Waweezy

I haven't done one of these in 3 mf years!!! Omg, crazy how time passes by. I was reluctant to post another mix for a few reasons: 1) I really wanted it to be special if I did another one, and 2) I was starting to get more gigs and I didn't want to share the main set of songs I'd be playing. Enough people asked me to make another one and I also needed a promo mix, so here we are! This is a slightly modified set to what I played at Soundhaven this year. Enjoy!

The original track is easily one of my favorite songs of all time. I found so much inspiration from it back when I first heard it in High School. It reminded me to always do me and block all the noise from everyone else. I'm really happy I was able to give this a remix.

Funny story: I made this beat a while ago with the intention of putting vocals over it, but then I forgot it was supposed to have vocals, so I couldn’t figure out what was wrong with it. I ended up giving up on the track, and it would still be sitting in my hard drive right now collecting dust if it weren’t for James, aka DARQ DAGR. He hit me up one day because he wanted to collaborate, and I told him I was neck-deep busy, so I didn't know when we could actually make something. Almost immediately, I thought to myself, “Let me show him some tracks that I just never finished,” and I ended up showing him this one. He liked it, and he quickly recorded some placeholder vocals for it just to see how it sounded over the track. When he sent it to me, I remember thinking to myself, “Holy shit! We may have something here, lol.” Anyways, the moral of the story is, don't forget about the tracks you have sitting in your hard drive.

(Lyrics)

I keep getting pulled from side to side

Got my head up, but I’m crashing down

Yeah, I keep getting pulled from side to side

Got my head up, but I’m crashing down

I’m crashing down

Side to side, up, I’m crashing down

Side to side up, I’m crashing down

I’m crashing down, I’m crashing down

Up, I’m crashing down

I’m crashing down, I’m crashing down

Up, I’m crashing down

Who will be there when I fall?

I’m so alone on my own, and it’s getting dark

Is anyone there at all?

I can barely hear the beat of my heart

Cause I keep getting pulled from side to side

Got my head up, but I’m crashing down

Yeah, I keep getting pulled from side to side

Got my head up, but I’m crashing down

I’m crashing down

I’m crashing down

Yeah, I’m crashing down

I’m crashing

I’m crashing down

Side to side, up, I’m crashing down

Side to side up, I’m crashing down

I’m crashing down, I’m crashing down

Up, I’m crashing down

I’m crashing down, I’m crashing down

Up, I’m crashing down

Found this dope ass vocal sample on splice and designed some sine compression and fm basses for this track. Hope y’all dig it! 140 - Dm
