Elijah was a person just like you and me when it came to physical, mental and even spiritual limitations. However, he understood the tremendous power of heartfelt persistent prayer. He relationally prayed by connecting with God and the rain of Israel stopped for three and a half years. Just think about how much influence that would have on King Ahab (The Ruler of Israel).  Elijah's prayer captured the attention of the nation because the rain stopped for 3 1/2 years. He did not stop there! He travailed in prayer and the rain came pouring down once again. This caused the land to go back to producing crops. It's important to realize that this was all done by someone just like us. He simply understood the power of persistent prayer.

'Elijah was a human being like us; yet he prayed earnestly that it might not rain, and for three years and six months it did not rain upon the land. Then he prayed again, and the sky gave rain and the earth produced its fruit. '

James 5:17-18

AIM BEYOND

When we pray we are able to aim beyond appearances, interruptions, and manipulations. This kind of focus positions us to fly by things that would otherwise bog us down. Getting all caught up in how things appear can cause us to turn our hearts away from what matters the most (Matt. 15:8). So, let's keep our focus on God rather than worrying about how other people think we look. Stopping to focus on interruptions can become a lifestyle if we let it. We live in a day when it's really easy to be interrupted. So, each day we should find new ways to avoid interruptions and stay focused the things that matter the most (Ps. 91:14, 15). It can seem really hard when manipulation attempts to capture our attention. However, it is simply an appearance of reality and not the truth. Stay focused on the truth so that manipulation loses power. We are seeking God beyond all else

This is the last Session and we will discuss fine-tuning our hearts to hear from God.

In this session, we will discuss the basics of hearing God and how the Holy Spirit is involved in the process.

In this week's session, we will cover the Voice of Prayer and some basic information about Prayer with Fasting.

In this session, we will cover some of the activities of prayer and the voice of prayer.
