Hezekiah was being verbally attacked by his enemies. They were seeking to humiliate him by turning the people against him and causing him to want to give up. They spoke insults in his direction to the people around him. Hezekiah turned to the Lord and cried out for help. As a result, God destroyed his enemies.

Have you ever seen what an avalanche can do to someone standing on a mountain? An enormous wall of snow and ice comes rushing down the mountain and buries things on the way. It's one of the most powerful forces of nature. Judah was hit by the Assyrian Empire like an avalanche coming down the mountain. The only city left standing was Jerusalem and they were completely surrounded. It's a good thing that their leader (Hezekiah) know how to climb a tree and bring them out of harm's way.

Hezekiah had to climb up a great mountain of heritage himself.  His Father was Ahaz (II Kings 16:1-4) created problems for him that were like a covering of snow (II Kings 18:1-6).  Yet, he chose to overcome them by through a transformed heart.  He learned to hear God for himself.  His emotions were dictated by the voice of God. Specifically speaking, his altitude was set by doing the right things for the Lord. This sparked a revival and he was able to stand tall.
