If we keep our eyes focused on ourselves, holding God responsible for making us this way and hating ourselves and Him for it, our faith will be eroded.

When God calls you or me to a task or to a vocation or to an area of responsibility, the world that results from refusing, rejecting, or resisting that calling is far darker than the world that results from embracing His call.

The more like Jesus we become the less we will need our motivation for being hardworking, productive, and good people to come from discontentment.

We find great comfort in group consensus.  So much comfort, in fact, that most of us will surrender our ethical deliberation to it, and this drive is particularly powerful when the consensus draws nearest to our nature.  Rebellion often occurs when rebellion pushes against our natures.

Those enemies that we do not cooperate with God in overcoming, God will ensure become consequences in our lives.

Revelation tells of a time when God's mercy will reach its end, and judgment will come again on the nations of the earth.  On that day, humanity will again, reap what it has sown.  But, we live in the day of mercy, of salvation, and Jesus has told us how to deal with evil during this epoch.

A life that matters is a life that has learned to trust in God no matter our circumstance.

Killing, murder, violence, are the only really permanent human powers...or at least that's what we thought until Jesus resurrected from the dead.

To be free from the pursuit of power out of the conviction both that we can trust God and that God has all that is necessary for us is a step toward living a life that matters.

What is the most pernicious lie we tell ourselves?  We think Jesus and God use the words we use in the same way that we use them and that God means essentially what we mean by those words.
