The Flyers are back in the playoffs, joining the Sixers for the first time in 5 years! Their reward? Their cross-state rivals: the Penguins. Pittsburgh resident Flyers fan Steve goes through some of the playoff rivalry history and gives his thoughts on the current team and why he's excited about their prospects heading into the matchup. After that, he gets into the lackluster end to the Sixers regular season and the outlook as they head towards the NBA play-in round. The pod finishes up with a few tidbits on the Phillies, Eagles, and Union.
Here's the link to the Flyers/Penguins Brawls in 2012 Game 3 that was mentioned in the pod.

The sports calendar has shifted to April, another one of those exciting times of transition that only occur a few times a year. Baseball and soccer are just getting started. Hockey and basketball playoffs are on the horizon. The NFL draft is practically here already. Steve is back with some insights on all of it, plus updates on all the Philly teams. An oldie (but goodie) beer of the show helps to balance it all out.

In response to the previous podcast about trying to turn around the negativity in the Philly sports universe, Steve received a great email from a listener with some stats to back it up. From there, we'll look at some continuing signs that things are still pretty good in Philly sports as it stands today. The beer of the show is the Irish Coffee Cream Ale from Southern Tier, just in time for the month of St. Patrick! Some timestamps:

It's Winter. It's cold, dark, depressing, but in the Philly sports world, sometimes it feels like that's every season. Steve wanted to try to spin some realistic insight into recent negative events in Philly sports and the resulting online discourse, in an attempt to help turn Negadelphia into REALadelphia. It's not all sunshine & rainbows, but it's not all thunderstorms either. A Lehigh Valley beer of the show from Bonn Place will help you feel better, too. Show highlights include:

With a combined 9-13 start to 2026 and some off-field disappointments thrown into the mix, so far this hasn't been a great January to be a Philly sports fan. Steve checks in with his thoughts on the struggles we fans have endured since we flipped the calendar, and finishes with some signs for optimism for most of his favourite teams. A full-bodied beer of the show returns as well to help you drink it all in:

The 2025-26 NFL season officially heads to the playoffs and the Eagles sit as the #3 seed. Steve checks in with some optimistic thoughts after a somewhat frustrating loss to the Washington Commanders to end the regular season, and looks ahead to the Eagles opponent in the wild card round, a re-match of the 2022-23 NFC Championship Game with the San Francisco 49ers. There were also a few noteworthy happenings in the 48 hours since last pod, plus a "Dry January Approved" beer of the show!

A happy 2026 to you! Steve returns on the pod this week with some thoughts on the Eagles having clinched their second consecutive NFC East title, asking is this the best era of Eagles football ever, but also...what still feels so wrong with this good team? Some quick hits on the Philly sports landscape outside of the Eagles, and a delicious local beer of the show to kick off the show's 4th(!) year.

With the Winter solstice on the horizon and some good news of late in the Philly sports universe, it's time to embrace some WINS! Kyle Schwarber is a Phillie for the next 5 years, the Eagles have rebounded and look to be back on track toward the playoffs, and the Flyers & Sixers have looked pretty decent of late. Steve has updates on all of that, plus some chatter on the Union and a few other tidbits. Of course, there's also a delicious beer of the show to help you wash it all down.

It's no secret that Steve is a huge hockey fan. You wouldn't believe how often he hears the name Scott Hartnell in Pittsburgh, more than 11 years since he was traded away from their cross-state rivals, the Philadelphia Flyers. It's safe to say he's STILL the most hated athlete in Pittsburgh. Steve has some nostalgic thoughts about Hartnell's glory days in the orange and black, plus some check-ins and things to be thankful for (remember, Thanksgiving was just last week) in the Philly sports universe. There's a limited time beer of the show to pair with your listening, as always.
1:30 - Topic - Scott Hartnell: STILL the Most Hated Athlete in Pittsburgh
Scott Hartnell offers condolences to Penguins' fan Hulk Hogan impersonator, as mentioned in the podcast.
