Waylon Jennings was crushed by the loss of his friend, Buddy Holly. His first marriage dissolved, which would prove to be the first of many. While his career blossomed in Arizona, Jennings took whatever jobs he could. That meant stretching beyond his means and tapping into pills to fuel his grind of a schedule.
