Catch and Release has been a great thing for conservation, few would argue that. However, some people mishandle fish before release which could be killing them and cancelling out all good intentions of release. A listener asked if I would do this show on how to properly handle fish intended for release. I was a little hesitant at the time because each fish that we fish for requires a slightly different technique. I wasn’t sure if I could effectively communicate, through audio only, the proper way to handle fish. I gave it a whirl anyway and hope it is helpful, if you want to know more please email me and I would be happy to provide any details that were missed in the podcast. Read the full article HERE.
This week on the Woman Angler and Adventurer, Co-Host Captain Barb Carey travels to Racine WI to fish on Lake Michigan. Barb loves to fish big water and is crazy about chasing Trout and Salmon.
For this trip, she was joined by her friends Gerri and Kim to chase some trout and salmon on Lake Michigan. After an exciting day of catching fish and adventures on the water, they return back to the house and prepare the fish for smoking and grilled some for dinner.
See how they prepare and smoke the fish. In addition to smoking a batch of fish, they grilled up some ginger teriyaki and lemon peppered Coho Salmon and Lake Trout. This episode also contains a lot of video footage of fishing and the smoking process, so it would be a good episode to watch on Waypoint TV or on our YouTube Channel. A special thanks to Kim for shooting the video and you can follow her YouTube channel BadgerFarmGirl.
For those of you in the Wisconsin area, Barb will be at the St Croix Factory Customer Appreciation Day on Saturday, June 15th and will be giving a seminar on Great Lakes Fishing.
