Why would Jesus break down sobbing when people were proclaiming Him king and asking for Him to save them? Why would He get violent in the temple flipping the money changer tables and chasing out the animals? What do the answers have to do with us?

When Jesus entered Jerusalem on that foal of a donkey there was a confluence of prophecy and cultural timing rich with meaning. Do we recognize the time of God visiting us?

Jesus' parable not only covered the upcoming week but two thousand years into the future and what we are to be doing in-between. It was prophetic and challenging. It gives us our purpose for today and vision for our future.

This is the third in a series of individuals that Jesus encounters on His way to the cross. Each is unique in their status in the culture, from the bottom to the top, the despised to the honored. Jesus reaches out to each hungry heart no matter where we are and invites Himself into our home.

Those who lack discernment will come to ruin. That is the theme of today's passage in Hosea. God allowed the consequences of their sin to come to bear upon the nation of Israel, and was calling his people to repent. He is doing so today, and we have an opportunity to run back to Jesus, or struggle on alone. What do you choose?

Jesus is the firstfruits from among the dead and the beginning of the new creation. What does that mean to us? How do we accept His invitation to be a part of that new creation? The patterns and pictures in the Old Testament show us the way and give us warnings.

In this message, Jesus describes His immediate future to prepare the disciples for the shock they were to face. That was followed by the restoration of Bartimaeus' sight. Mercy was granted and his sight was restored, but he already received mercy to see spiritually. What do you want Jesus to do for you?

How good is good enough for God? A devout Jew asked Jesus what he needed to do to inherit the Kingdom of God. The way Jesus answered and his invitation is something we all need to hear!
