It’s the ideal moment to continue our peaceful evening with a visit to The Seas with Nemo & Friends.

We walk from the Land Pavilion to The Seas, where — to our surprise — there’s absolutely no wait. The entire queue is empty, letting us stroll straight to our clamshells. We split up 2‑and‑2, adults in one vehicle and kids in the other, and begin our gentle underwater adventure.

Every effect is working beautifully, from the jellyfish to the East Australian Current. The only oddity is the final scene, where the audio is slightly out of sync, creating a funny echo as we pass the aquarium windows. But the real magic comes when we see the actual marine life — sharks, schools of fish, and even a playful dolphin enjoying a toy.

After the ride, we slip around the corner to watch the dolphin for a moment before stepping back outside into that perfect Florida evening. Traci even comments on how lovely the weather was — comfortable, peaceful, and full of that unmistakable Epcot nighttime energy.

Join Lou for Memory 346, recorded in December 2021 as our Epcot adventure continues. After the intense Orange Mission on Mission: SPACE, we cross Future World in search of something calmer — and Soarin’ Around the World is the perfect choice.

The walk across the park is quieter than usual due to construction, but once we enter the Land Pavilion, the familiar energy returns. We head down the escalator and luck into a short wait, giving us plenty of time to enjoy one of our favorite queues in all of Walt Disney World: the world‑trivia game. It’s a fun, family‑friendly competition that always makes the wait fly by.

We make it through the merge point, continue playing as long as we can, and eventually enter the pre‑show area. Patrick, our Chief Flight Attendant, delivers his iconic safety briefing — a moment that always makes us smile — and soon we’re buckled in and lifted high into the clouds. The music swells, the scents shift, and we glide across the globe in one of Epcot’s most beloved attractions.

After landing, we debate riding again, but the line has grown out the door. Instead, we head back into the evening air, where Spaceship Earth treats us to a beautiful light show — its own version of sunset and starlight — before we continue our journey.

This time, the kids are ready for their first‑ever ride on the Orange Mission, and their excitement is contagious. Traci decides to sit this one out, so we leave our things with her and head inside for a surprisingly short wait. You’ll hear the nervous energy as we move through the queue, the extended delay in the briefing room, and the moment we finally receive our roles for the mission.

Once we’re locked into our cockpit, the fun begins. Experience a festive holiday moment in Epcot’s France Pavilion as we listen to Père Noël share his charming Christmas tale. This memory comes from our December 2021 visit, when we had just finished watching Matsuriza in Japan and realized Père Noël was beginning his storytelling in only two minutes.

We hurried along the World Showcase promenade from Japan, past Morocco, and arrived in France just in time to hear Père Noël begin. He shares the story of Babette and her Christmas letter, along with French holiday traditions like Le Réveillon and children placing their shoes by the fireplace. It’s a warm, joyful moment that captures the spirit of the season in World Showcase.

After the performance, with Remy still down, we head to the fountain to sit, relax, and decide where our adventure will take us next.

Experience the power and artistry of Matsuriza in Epcot’s Japan Pavilion. This memory comes from our December 2021 visit to Walt Disney World, when we left Germany after a festive lunch and made our way toward France for our Remy reservation—only to discover the attraction had gone down with technical issues.

With a little time to spare, we pivoted and headed back across World Showcase to catch a Matsuriza performance starting in just fifteen minutes. We arrived with a few minutes to spare, enjoyed the peaceful ambiance of Japan, and then watched an incredible Taiko drum performance filled with rhythm, strength, and artistry.

Join us inside Epcot’s Germany Pavilion as we sit down for a long‑awaited meal at the Biergarten Restaurant. With strong German ancestry on Traci’s side of the family, this restaurant always feels a bit like home — and today’s visit is filled with great food, warm atmosphere, and lively entertainment.

We enjoy an outstanding meal before the Oktoberfest Musikanten take the stage near the end of our visit. Their energetic oompah music fills the hall, the crowd cheers and toasts along, and the whole place comes alive in classic Biergarten style.

As the concert wraps up, we gather our things and head out — because our reservation time for Remy’s Ratatouille Adventure has finally arrived.

Our journey around World Showcase continues as we leave the Mexico Pavilion behind and make a quick stop in Italy to watch Sergio the juggler. Unfortunately, this is where my batteries gave out — and of course, this was the moment Sergio picked Mikey to help. It’s a memory I wish I had captured, but one we’ll always remember.

With about twenty minutes left before our lunch reservation in Germany, we continue on to the Japan Pavilion. Arriving just a few minutes before showtime, we watch as the background music fades and the Daruma Storyteller steps out to share the traditions of Japanese New Year. Through humor, heart, and a wonderful performance, she teaches us the meaning behind Daruma dolls and the spirit of perseverance they represent.

Continue our walk around World Showcase as we pick up right where the last episode left off. After stepping out of Reflections of China and into the bright midday sun, we still have a little time before our lunch reservation. So we make our way toward the warm glow of the Mexico Pavilion.

Crossing into the cool twilight of the pyramid, we head straight into the queue for the Gran Fiesta Tour Starring The Three Caballeros. The line is wonderfully short today, and before long our boat slips into the water, drifting past the bustling restaurant and into the ancient ruins beyond. From there, Donald, Panchito, and José Carioca whisk us through music, color, and a bit of playful chaos on their lively journey across Mexico.

It’s a lighthearted, charming escape — and we’re back outside again in record time, just in time for lunch.
