I have had a great time this month sharing my perspective since returning from my first visit to Disneyland. Last week we counted down the Top 5 Rides Disneyland Does Better! This week we are turning the tables and looking at the rides Walt Disney World does better.

If you are anything like me, and I’m guessing you are in some small way because you are reading this, then you love to dream about what lies ahead. Before going to Disneyland for the first time, I had so many questions, and so many things I couldn’t wait to discover. Chief among these were the rides of course! I was so excited to see where many of the rides I have grown up loving got their start. I was anxious to see the similarities and the differences of the rides shared between the parks. Who’s ready to go on a spectacular Pirates & Pals Fireworks Voyage? Because there are so many know before you go facts today, we are going to split these up. The Pirates & Pals Fireworks Voyage is really a 3 part experience. The first part is a hearty junk food party with Captain Hook and Mr. Smee, the second an adventurous sailing full of trivia and jokes, and the last a surprise meet and greet back on shore. Our family got to experience the voyage a couple of years ago, so today I’m going to walk you through our time while discussing the three phases of the journey.

Today we are sailing the dark, eerie waters of Pirates of the Caribbean. This highly themed boat ride is rich in history, highly influential in the greater Disney library, and one that continues to grow in popularity worldwide. Let’s look at where this ride came from, where it is today, and where the winds of change might blow it tomorrow.

The Pirates League is a richly themed environment that takes everyday boys and girls and transforms them into full fledged pirates or mermaids. It all starts with a visit to the small boutique located next to Pirates of the Caribbean.

There is a check-in desk located at the entrance to The Pirates League. When you check-in, you will be asked to select your pirate look of choice. Your options will be determined by the level of package you purchase. Before we walk down the plank of our pirate makeover, let’s cover the different packages and what they include.

Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party 2016 is a seasonal event at the Magic Kingdom that allows guests to dress up, do some trick-or-treating, take photos with costumed characters, see one-of-a-kind nighttime shows and parades, taste seasonal speciality food offerings, and watch a unique fireworks spectacular. The party changes a little every year and I’m excited to share some new tricks with you today!

Rider Switch is something you need to know about and take advantage of. In fact, you might go so far as to say Rider Switch can be a parent’s secret weapon to experiencing more rides with less wait! If your ideal vacation includes the words “wine & dine,” then the Epcot International Food & Wine Festival is the event for you! The World Showcase comes to life with 30 unique food & beverage kiosks only available during this time of year. Each one gives you the opportunity to sample a small bite of international flavor. You can then wash it down with a special brew or sparkling glass. In addition to the tasty food and drink, the festival brings in celebrity chefs, live music, seminars, book & bottle signings, and more! There may be no wrong way to eat your way through Epcot, but let’s make sure you know where you want to get started.
