"We are the Body of Christ" reflects the Christian belief that all followers of Jesus Christ, collectively, form the Body of Christ. The addition of "with Purpose and Function" emphasizes that each individual member of this spiritual body has a unique role and responsibility to fulfill in the service of God and others. Bishop Brown suggest in this teaching, that there has to be a focus on understanding and actively living out one's specific purpose and function within the larger Body of Christ,
