WE ARE THE FALL Podcast

Our exploration into the surprising and rewarding Tony Friel projects (outside of The Fall) begins now! First up is the band The Passage, with their 1978 single New Love Songs. Joining Tony, in The Passage, are Dick Witts (drums, vocals) and Lorraine Hilton (keyboards), forming a mysterious and often hilarious power trio that is not to be missed. Let's get into our celebratory Tony Friel Week on WATF Pod.

We're jumping into Mark's (well-used) time machine to journey back to the scene of The Fall's debut on record/vinyl and the last night of the historical Electric Circus venue. This 1978 compilation album offers appearances by The Fall, Buzzcocks, Joy Division, and many more! Gavin and Steve survive the sketchy journey to the venue to witness (auditorily) the final night closeout of this former-cinema turned rock club (soon to be, fittingly, turned into a bingo hall!). *Patreon episode contains full tracks.*

Don't cry no tears... unless its because you've discovered another supremely underrated Fall-related, Manchester band: The Teardrops. Gavin and Steve dive into the band's EP and a single from this unique group. Over the duration of the band's life it featured members such as Steve Garvey, Karl Burns, Tony Friel, Martin Bramah and John Key(?!), among others. Join us on Patreon for the full episode and to listen-along to the full (great) tracks!
