June 20, 2022 187: 21/22 End of Season REVIEW - West Ham memories to last a lifetime!
First of all, sorry we're late!

We recorded this episode way back on the 31st May but since then, life's got in the way a little bit. We've both been on holidays and work has been a bit mental for the both of us - it is the beginning of the transfer window after all.

But we're finally bringing you our annual season review, where we break down everything that happened throughout what eventually turned into one of the most memorable seasons of our lifetimes.

That run to the Europa League semi-final will never be forgotten, beating the likes of Sevilla and Lyon along the way - that night in Lyon will be hart to beat, won't it!?

But then the fact we still finished 7th in the Premier League, despite not signing anyone in January and going so deep in Europe, must not be sniffed at.

So in this episode, we take a walk down memory lane, beginning all the way back in August when we kicked off the season by thrashing Newcastle at St. James' Park. There were some low points along the way (we wouldn't be West Ham without them), but mostly it's just a jolly good chat about all the great things we got to experience.

We also take some time to thank every single one of you, especially those who have engaged with us both on social media throughout the season and who have kindly bought us beers via donations on Buy Me A Beer. We are so grateful for every single one of you - thank you!

And then we finish off a review of our Betway Charity Bets, with final totals from all of us as we took our two-season fundraising to over £20k!

Remember, we recorded this at the end of May so much of the intro is a little out of date, but it's still worth listening anyway. Obviously!

From the bottom of our hearts, thanks so much for listening this season and for all the kind and supportive messages. We love you all. Will & James xx

May 18, 2022 186: A Noble departure before Brighton
West Ham’s home fans bid an emotional farewell to club legend Mark Noble on Sunday on the same day the Irons earned an excellent point against champions in waiting Man City.

Jarrod Bowen scored a fantastic brace to cap of an excellent campaign before Jack Grealish and a Vladimir Coufal own-goal saw City level.

Lukasz Fabianski pulled off a brilliant save to deny Riyad Mahrez from the penalty spot late on to deliver a result and a performance to match the emotion of the occasion as Noble said goodbye to the West Ham faithful for a final time as a player.

Will Pugh and James Jones are back for the final normal format podcast of the season to chat all things Noble, City and much more.

The lads celebrate another Betway charity bet win before making their final picks of the season for the Seagulls game.

Before the boys say goodbye for the penultimate time this season.

From the bottom of our hearts, thanks so much for listening this season and for all the kind and supportive messages. We love you all. Will & James xx

May 13, 2022 184: Opposition View: Manchester City, with Stephen Tudor from the 93:20 Podcast
Just like last week, things have been a bit up the air for myself and Will but we couldn't go a week without bringing you the Opposition View.

This week, we host Manchester City in a game with so much riding on it for both clubs. Victory for us will all but guarantee European football again next season and will put us in a great position to leapfrog Man United into the top six. For City, three points will all but guarantee them yet another Premier League title.

And then there's the not-so-small matter of Mark Noble's last home game before he retires next week. It's going to be an emotional one and we will of course give him a wonderful send-off.

Joining James on the Opposition View this week is friend of the show Stephen Tudor, from the 93:20 Podcast, to chat all things Man City. Ste gives his views on the title race, City's new-found rivalry with Liverpool, the bargain capture of Erling Haaland, how thinks Sunday's clash will go and much, much more!

As always, this one's not to be missed!

May 03, 2022 182: It's the Eintracht countdown!
West Ham lost 2-1 at home to Arsenal on Sunday.

It came after a Europa League semi-final first leg defeat to Eintracht Frankfurt at London Stadium last Thursday.

But Will Pugh and James Jones refuse to be downbeat ahead of Thursday’s massive second leg in Germany.

The excitement is palpable as Will prepares to head to Frankfurt and the lads also let themselves imagine what it might be like to see Mark Noble and Declan Rice lift the trophy.

The boys look back to the last two games as well as looking ahead to Thursday v Frankfurt and the Premier League visit to Norwich on Sunday.

The lads also make their Betway charity bet selections ahead of the Carrow Road clash.

Before TalkSPORT’s Jake Watson joins to give the lowdown from the relegated Norwich camp and chat about joining Will on a recent 'live like a Premier League player day' at Chadwell Heath thanks to Betway.

Will and James wrap up by looking back at West Ham Women’s 3-0 WSL defeat at Man Utd before they say goodbye at the beginning of another enthralling week for West Ham United.

History has already been made and the mindblowing journey continues Thursday night. Drink it in. And of course David Moyes’ mighty Hammers can do it.

April 26, 2022 181: Who else has got a (European) semi? - ft Eintracht Frankfurt oppo view
West Ham lost 1-0 at Chelsea on Sunday in oh so frustrating fashion.

Craig Dawson was sent off as he gave away a late penalty which Jorginho missed before Christian Pulisic bagged the winner at Stamford Bridge.

But do Hammers fans really care with a Europa League semi-final first-leg against Eintracht Frankfurt on Thursday night?

Will Pugh certainly doesn’t on this week’s pod but James Jones is far more conservative.

Bastian Roth from the Eintracht podcast dials in to give an opposition view ahead of the mammoth clash.

The lads make their Betway charity bet selections ahead of Sunday’s home Premier League game against Arsenal.

Before Dan Cutts, SunSport editor and huge Gooner, joins to give another lowdown from the opposition camp.

Will and James wrap up by congratulating West Ham’s Women on a great WSL win at Reading before they say goodbye at the beginning of another enthralling week for West Ham United.

History has already been made and the mindblowing journey continues Thursday night. Drink it in.
