This week, Matt and Pete talk about Picaresqueties, the companion EP to Picaresque. They also wrap up the Decemberists "indie" years by ranking their top five Decemberists songs from the pre -major label days. Does "Cocoon" make either of their lists? You'll have to listen to find out!

In this episode, Matt and Pete are joined by their friend Justin Spaeth to discuss The Decemberists' third studio album, "Picaresque". Also discussed; Cassette Adapters, Matt's passive aggressive trivia night questions, and the terrible burden of Justin Spaeth's intelligence. 

This week the boys take on two EP's: Billy Liar, the companion EP to "Her Majesty The Decemberists" and The Tain, a mini rock opera loosely based on a famous Irish myth. Pete schools Matt on some medieval Irish history. Matt struggles to understand an economy wherein wealth is determined by the relative awesomeness of one's cows. A good time is had by all. 

This week Matt and Pete tackle The Decemberists' second studio album, "Her Majesty The Decemberists". Pete educates Matt about life expectancy statistics. Matt educates Pete about sea shanties. Their friendship grows even stronger as a result. 

Matt and Pete are joined this week by Steve Wissinger, a fellow appreciator of The Decemberists catalogue and Pete's long-time twin brother.  In this episode they discuss "Castaways and Cutouts", The Decemberists' first full length album, and spend a lot of time talking about Neutral Milk Hotel, while complaining about how much people talked about Neutral Milk Hotel when talking about The Decemberists. 

Matt and Pete begin their journey through the oeuvre of The Decemberists with an analysis of their first EP, Five Songs. Also, Matt learns a little something about Gypsies.
