We Considered Comics

Hello ACCtion heroes! Our new bumper is courtesy of Comic Book Informer! Aren't they swell?

This past weekend, Marty had the opportunity to interview Travis Vengroff (quick note: Travis was on his smart phone. He's a busy guy and has to multitask).
He is the executive producer, master mind and GAME master of the Liberty Multimedia project. Liberty, you may recall, was a podcast I plugged earlier in the year, just after C2E2. Since the con, Travis and Company have put out:

Tales from the Tower: A horror podcast set in the world of Atreus
A Kickstarter: For Liberty--Deception Vol 1

A comic that ties directly into the world we've learned about in Liberty: Critical Research

Stick around as Travis and Marty talk about Liberty, his podcast and comic book creative teams, what it takes to get an indie project off the ground, resource economies and cannibalism.

Yup. Cannibalism.

Hi ACCtion heroes!

Like the bumper? You really should check out Comic Book Informer. Vince and Roger are way better than smoked velveeta.

This week, we have a pullbox, a McGuffin Discussion and share concerns about the Doc Strange Trailer.

Pullbox!

Nick: Superior Foes of Spider-man
Tim: Ultimate Fantastic Four
Marty: The Fix and Black Panther

McGuffins!

Marty: Cosmic Cube (and the return of Steve Rogers)
Nick: Infinity Gauntlets and Lantern Rings
Tim: The Ultimate Nullifer

Doctor Strange Trailer

How did they make Tilda Asianesque? They made her bald
All the Orientalism, none of the Asians
Cool folding the city, too bad we already saw it in Inception
But well, we gotta give it to them, that cape was correct.

Lockjaw!

Clancy Brown as the Blacksmith (we saw that coming, right?)
Hannah was in PA. The show will get way better when she comes back!

Hello ACCtion Heroes!

This week, we break down Daredevil Season 2. I'm not sure what sorta notes we should have for this. I mean, I don't think anyone actually reads these. I mean, do you? Do you really?

If you read the notes, tweet or email me with the code word "schwifty" and I'll give you a shout out and maybe a prize.

Hello and Welcome to All Comics Considered!

In our last episode during Women's History Month, we bring in Megan from Dorkadia to discuss examples of female sexuality in comics! A warning: If frank discussions of sexuality are not your jam, after we talk about the Civil War Hype Train, you may want to dip on out. And that's 100% cool with us.
First up: Requisite Civil War Hype Train

Marty is conductor of the train
Hannah is the Engineer
Nick isn't hyped
Megan is team cap, but also not so hyped

Positive Examples of Female Sexuality in Comics:

Oh Joy Sex Toy!
Bitch Planet
Sex Criminals
Saga
Captain Marvel
Red Sonja
Lumberjanes
Angela and Sera
Rat Queens

Way less than positive:

Fridging
Hawkeye Initiative
Frank Miller Madonna's and Whores Complex
