  • WHY.I EP. 36 - Radical Trauma

    Send a text

    Lets talk about trauma and allow me to let you in on a secret…🗣️👂🏽
    We All Have Some!! The thing that sets us apart is how we cope with it. When processed properly, it can lead to a better understanding of self and the world around you. If not, then it can drive you into some DARK places!  Today we want to explore one of those places: Radicalization!!

    In this episode, we discuss:
    @1:23 - The Merch and the "Meat" of this Movement
    @6:16 - Introduction of the topic
    @9:35 - The importance of processing trauma
    @10:38 - Humans are emotional beings
    @13:10 - Sexual trauma
    @18:43 - Racism/Prejudice
    @20:07 - How radical beliefs can be appealing to some
    @21:51 - Charles Manson
    @24:10 - Child/Prostitute grooming

    This is a SUPER important topic (especially considering how easy it is for people to be indoctrinated via social media) and I really hope this episode was enlightening to you all! 😊😌

  • WHY.I EP. 35 - Free Speech or Hate Speech

    Send a text

    Hate Speech is speech that incites violence or encourages hate or aggression towards a (protected) group of people. (In America, those groups are outlined in our amendments).It's a very dangerous thing that we all need to be mindful of.  I believe, however, that it's equally important to understand the difference between hate speech and FREE SPEECH!  The stifling of free speech can potentially do even more damage to both individuals and society as a whole!!

    In this week's episode, we discuss:
    @4:24 - the introduction of the topic
    @8:55 - curiosity is natural and it leads to opinions and beliefs
    @15:29 - the importance of conversation and questioning
    @19:15 - what is hate speech
    @25:28 - the benefits of free speech
    @29:38 - encouraging open dialogue and healthy thought development

    I'm personally very proud of this episode.  I believe that it will be beneficial to all of humanity in our current climate of communication and will assist in facilitating the conversations that will help us understand each other just a little better! (Or that's what I hope at least. lol😅😁) Anyways, as always, thanks for tuning in!😉

  • WHY.I EP. 34 - JUST HUMANS w/ Smart (@thesmartguy)

    Send a text

    WARNING: Some of the views expressed in this episode by our guest are EXTREME and do NOT reflect the views or beliefs  of Clara, myself, or the We Hate You Internet Podcast!

    Hello everyone!  Today's episode was planned to be the beginning of a new series we would be embarking on called, JUST HUMANS.
    The concept behind it is that though we all have our cultures, beliefs, and ideologies, each of our lives (all 7 billion of us) is a representation of the Human experience, expressed under certain conditions and factors.  If we can see each other through that lens, then we can truly understand that we're all...just humans and there's always something we can learn from another!
    To that end, we invited our guest, Smart aka @ thesmartguy, to discuss the Black image
    that is portrayed and propagated via the various forms of media. Smart is a man who has overcome great adversity and obstacles in his life to take up a fight that he is truly passionate about:  the betterment of his disenfranchised people!  Through the course of our conversation , however, we found ourselves in places that even I didn't anticipate! Lol!😅
    Though I know that some of his views will be confusing to some and hurtful to others, I wanted to keep the conversation intact (with a few minor edits for time sake) for 2 reasons:

    1. Because I believe in the integrity of all dialogue and
    2.  because, as I stated earlier, if viewed through the proper lens, you can learn from ANYONE!

    If you don't have the stomach for controversial statements, I COMPLETELY understand if you sit this one out!! BUT... if you can conquer your emotions and maintain a reasonable and balanced mind, then you're welcome to join us on the journey. 😉😌

    PS.  Smart did makes some good points on the power of music, image, and self awareness that are very valuable!👍🏾
