Of all the systems we have in our society, I can't think of any that's more polarized than our political system!!  Admittedly, I'm not a very political guy myself, but in recent years I've tried to educate myself on the "legal going-ons" in this country.  I've found it to be rather difficult because of how murky the waters can be (with all the mudslinging) and how passionately bold battle line are drawn. It's easy to be turned off completely and coming away thinking, "My vote doesn't really matter anyway!🤷🏽‍♂️   It's with this in mind and the fact that Election Day is next week, we decided to do something we've never done here on We Hate You Internet... We're doing a DOUBLE UPLOAD!!

To help unravel this ball of yarn and shed some much needed light on the subject,  we invited the owner of the Bates Law Firm and current elected official, Randy Bates Jr.  With over 20 years of political experience, Randy gives you a very clear and realistic explanation of why your vote really does matter!  He dropped so many gems that we decided to break up our conversation into 2 parts ( for digestive purposes😉😄)

In Part 1, we discuss:
- why are politics important
- why are people unaware of that importance
- growing up during the Civil Rights movement and how the political process was effectively utilized 
- being groomed in the political arena 
- how home ownership, taxation, school districts, and state funding work together 
- the political process WITHIN the political process

The number of businesses started since the pandemic has been record breaking!! Like the gold rush in the 19th century, many have heard the voice of the “entrepreneurial siren” and left the workforce to try their hand at chasing their dreams. While I have NO PROBLEM with that, I believe the internet (especially social media) has done an injustice to the masses in not showing people the true perils of that journey. We here at We Hate You Internet wanted to explore that concept and we brought in some help to do so: Enter Brand Manager and Marketing Specialist ShebaCreativeAF (that may or may not be her legal name😅🤣😉)
Together we discuss:
- the illusions of building a successful business 
- the unspoken reality of business building 
- the “slot machine mentality”
- the predatory nature of this new business coaching/mentorship industry 

And this is just in part 1! There were so many gems dropped that we had to break this into 2 parts. There are SO MANY people filed for their LLC or CORP, got their EIN, opened their bank account, and then….🤷🏽‍♂️😔

What is a man? It’s a question that can be both super easy and quite complex (depending on this context) but it is also one that demands an answer (ESPECIALLY in this current time)! You know we here on We Hate You Internet don’t shy away from the hard stuff so we’re going to do just that!!😉

On this episode, we discuss:
- the prerequisite for being a man biologically (simple right?🙂)
- the importance of a collective understanding of words, genders, and roles for the sake of a functional society

Ever heard the idiom(expression), "If looks could kill..."?  It's typically used in reference to an ill-intentioned look,  but we wanted to use it in a slightly different way.   In our society, we are in LOVE with the illusions of imagery!  We'll even encourage and celebrate an image, even at the detriment of the image caster (hence the title).

On today's episode, we discuss:

• when body positivity goes WRONG
• the hurt caused by illusions
• "artificial" fitness
• permanent damage for temporary trends

This episode will be especially helpful for our younger listeners who are often the most susceptible to the influences of today's fades and facades!  There may be some who will be slightly hurt by the things we say here, but just as some life-saving medicines are bitter to the taste...
