In this week's episode, we have questions about...the whole life ethic.
Also known as the consistent life ethic, the whole life ethic refers to being pro-life for the whole life."From womb to tomb" is a popular phrase associated with the whole life ethic, and quite literally means that human life is important from the very moment it begins to its very last breath. A person's whole life matters.
Join us as we tackle the whole life ethic topic: what it truly means, and possible ways to walk out a whole life ethic in our daily lives. Our questions about the whole life ethic led to so many more questions and topics to wrestle with. For example: If all human life is sacred, then why does it seem the preborn are the most widely and socially accepted lives to fight for from the pulpit? Are there lives/stages of life we more readily see the Imago Dei in, and therefore choose to fight for most often and most passionately?
We'll be devoting our next few conversations to questions about the issues surrounding the pro-life/pro-choice movement, capital punishment, and euthanasia/end-of-life.
