Everything we do in this life follows time.  We set our alarm for a certain time.  We need to be in school/class at a certain time.  We have lunch at a certain time and we go to bed at a certain time.

With all this talk about time, including the time change we did last Saturday night, in which we "gained" an hour.  Do we give any time to be with God?

In the Gospel Passage today we hear about the poor man Lazarus and the Rich man.  Both died and went to very different areas.  Lazarus was in the bosom of Abraham in Heaven and the rich man was in torment.  And between them there was a great chasm.

Did you know that there was a chasm between Lazarus and the rich man before they died?

Are you a chasm or a bridge?

Many this past week dressed up and pretended to be someone or something while asking for candy and goodies.  But did you know that a person actually puts on Christ at the time of Baptism?

Today we celebrate the Feast of St. Demetrios the Great Martyr.  In the sermon today, we focus on the Epistle Reading from the day we ask the question...

Did you know that we are called to be soldiers of Christ?

This Sunday will be the final Sunday of having Vasili Panagopoulos with us here at St. George.  He was assigned to us for Youth Ministry 2 years ago and he stayed to chant the Divine Services for us (when he didnt have to).  We thank him and his family for being with us!

Today we hear something else, how we are to live, love and treat others...

We have all heard the saying "treat others the way you want to be treated", but who may have said that to you first?  Was it a parent?  a teacher? a coach?

Do you know WHO said it first?

In the Gospel Passage today we hear about how fishermen worked all night and caught nothing.  Our Lord spoke to the crowd and then told Peter to cast out his net (who just put them away because they caught nothing prior) and immediately there was so much in the net that a second net was needed.

What does this mean for us today, one word...obedience!
