Today's Gospel Passage we hear about the love of God and we also hear about jealousy.   What does this mean for us?  Listen!

Since the beginning of time, humankind as asked in some way, shape or form "what is God like".  Well, we know that God became man and our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ taught while He ministered.  One of His teachings is the Parable of the Prodigal Son  Listen to how it continues to teach us today!

Humility is one of the vital ingredients of life.  Our Lord talked of humility and showed it by His willingness to take on our flesh, our sins in order to give us the opportunity of salvation.  On this Sunday in which we hear about the Publican and Pharisee our focus is directed on two individuals who went to the temple to pray.  Who are you like?

Today in the Liturgical life of the Church we begin a wonderful and beautiful period known as the Triodion?  But what is the Triodion?  Is it important?  What does it mean?

"The Servant of God is churched!" This prayer from the 40-day blessing says a lot about our calling as Christians.  Christ's 40-day blessing known as the 'The Presentation of Christ to the Temple' has a profound meaning for our community's responsibility to raise our children.

Christ sought the company of tax collectors and sinners - which was unheard of during this time.  Our Lord, ate, drank and spoke with them.  In the Gospel Passage today we hear that a tax collector named Zacchaeus climbed a tree to see Jesus?  What happened and what does this mean for us here today? When a person comes forward to receive Holy Communion the clergyman says, "the Servant of God receives the Body and Blood of Christ for the remission of sins and life everlasting."  But did you know that YOU have a responsibility to say something when this happens?  Want to know what this responsibility is?  Listen...

Have you ever received a gift that you were so excited that you forgot to say thank you?  Many if not all of us have done this before.  We hear in the Gospel passage today that 10 lepers were healed by Christ yet only one came back.  We need to make sure that we say "thank you" to God on a daily basis and to come to take part in the Divine "Thank you" - the Liturgy!

Continuing from the Youth Sermon earlier, we can continue to learn from the healing of the 10 lepers and the one who came back to say "thank you".  We can say "thank you" to God on a daily basis for the opportunity of life... for His Church and Saints...for the country we live in...for health or for His strength during difficult time.  We must simply remember to constantly (as we do in the Divine Liturgy) "give thanks to the Lord."
