Did you know that you are currently writing a book? Yes, every day you are writing the book of your life. The decisions you make and all the things (good and difficult) that come from it.

There were 10 seconds left in a basketball playoff game. The coach during the time-out drew up a play.  The best player got the ball, shot it as the buzzer went off and missed.
WE all have been in a situation like this before (maybe not through athletics) at home or the work place, we may have messed up.
This is because no one living in this world is perfect and does everything right.

In the Epistle Reading today we hear St. Paul talking about putting on armor like a soldier and everything they wore offered a form of protection included their shields.  Roman soldier shields were very large (see pic).  What did a soldier have to do EVERYDAY to their shield?  What is our shield that we have as Orthodox Christians and what do we need to do EVERYDAY?

We have heard about having the faith of a mustard seed, St. Ambrose says "the mustard see is indeed very plain, and of little value, but if bruised or crushed it shows for its power.  So faith seems a simple thing, but if it is bruised by its enemies it gives us forth of its power"

Today, the Sunday following Holy Pentecost is known as "All Saints" Sunday.  Whether they were martyred, were raised  faithful homes, or found the faith and changed the direction of their lives, today they are remembered.

What did you do when you found out you had good news?  You probably shared it with your family, friends and then everyone you came across.  We have the best news that we are to share with the world... CHRIST IS RISEN!

On this Sunday we hear about the Paralytic and his encounter with our Lord.  For 38 years this person suffered and was asked by Christ Himself, "Do you want to be made well?"  This might seem like a strange question because of course the man wanted to be healed.

Why would our Lord ask this question?
