GrapeFest returns to Historic Main Street in Grapevine September 17–20, 2026, marking four decades of wine, tradition, community, and Texas pride. The festival began in 1987 as part of an effort to support the restoration and renaissance of Grapevine's Historic Main Street while celebrating the emerging Texas wine industry.

In this special episode, Paul takes us behind the scenes of one of the Southwest's biggest wine celebrations. We'll talk about the history of GrapeFest, how the festival has evolved over 40 years, the role Grapevine has played in Texas wine, and what visitors can expect from this milestone celebration.

In this episode of We Know Texas Vino, we head to the Piney Woods of East Texas to visit the charming and family-owned Green Goat Winery. Located just outside the artsy town of Edom in Chandler, this laid-back winery has built a reputation for crafting approachable Texas wines and offering a welcoming, down-to-earth tasting experience.

Owned by Rip and Cindy Cunningham, Green Goat Winery combines estate-grown grapes with locally sourced fruit to produce a diverse lineup of wines that reflect the spirit of East Texas. Their vineyard spans about 8 acres and includes varieties such as Lomanto, Champanel, Black Spanish, and newer grape cultivars suited for Texas conditions. 

The winery’s tasting room offers guests the chance to explore everything from bold reds to fun fruit wines while enjoying the relaxed atmosphere that makes small Texas wineries so special.
