  • You Are Not Forgotten -S2-DE6

    Lady Vs Weekly Devotional

The LORD hears his people when they call to him for help. He rescues them from all their troubles. The LORD is close to the brokenhearted; he rescues those whose spirits are crushed. The righteous person faces many troubles, but the LORD comes to the rescue each time.

    Psalm 34:17-19, NLT

    Devotional

Beloved, if you’ve found yourself crying out to God and wondering, “When will the answer come?” You are not alone. Many of us go through rough seasons and want God to speak, show up, and fix it—ASAP.

I know; It may seem like God has forgotten about you and isn’t there; But, I’ve been sent to tell you that GOD IS THERE.

No matter what you are battling through, the LORD is with you. You are NOT alone.  God is Jehovah Shammah –The Lord who is THERE.And, you are not forgotten!

You are like a city on a hill with all its traffic jams, cracked buildings, and streets with pot-holes. You’re in need of repair. And we all know that repairs aren’t cheap—they come at a cost.

But the good news is that God is the BEST repairman, and JESUS already paid the cost. Jesus is enough!

Jesus is the God that cares about your every concern. He’s eager to build you back up again. He’s that restorer of all things. He’s that provider. He’s that healer of the brokenhearted.

God hears our every cry.Photo by Ben White on Unsplash

Even in your silent cries, God is that FIRST RESPONDER that comes to your rescue every time. He knows that you’re in need of HIM and He hears your every cry for help. You are not forgotten. The LORD is all that you need and HE is with you.

Beloved, you are the Temple of God, and God is in your space. There is no problem that HE cannot solve. There is no brokenness that HE cannot mend. And there’s no situation that HE’s not in. You are NOT forgotten!

Rest assured that God has heard you! So on this day, put away the tears and start rejoicing because your answer is on the way. Weeping may endure for a night, but joy comes in the morning (Psalm 30:5, NKJV). In the Name of Jesus—it’s MORNING TIME!

    Have faith in God.

    Jesus is LORD!!!

    Grace and Peace to you,

  • Love Yourself – Don’t Be a Placeholder – S2E5

Relationships are the connections one has with others. And although there are several types of relationships—romantic relationships can be tricky. In other words, those connections are hard enough as it is when both people are on the same page. But if they are not, it makes navigating through the issues of life that much more difficult.

Do you feel loved, cherished, and respected?

And for that reason, loving yourself is so important. Because, when you truly love yourself, you are more aware of how that relationship affects you. For instance, how does the relationship make you feel? That is all the more crucial when planning a future with someone.

If you are not receiving what you need and want from the relationship it's time to examine that. In Ephesians 4:2 New Living Translation it speaks on how we should be with others, "Always be humble and gentle. Be patient with each other, making allowance for each other’s faults because of your love."

Next, 1 Peter 4:8 New International Version says, "Above all, love each other deeply..." In fact, if you are doing those things and your partner is not, you owe it to yourself to consider that. So, if you don't feel loved, cherished, or respected then you must rethink the relationship. Do it for your own sanity. Because, you want the love you and your partner share, to be at the least--mutual.

    Don’t be “The Placeholder”

He marries "The One."Photo by Olivia Bauso on Unsplash

Have you heard of or know a couple who had kids, a home, and a couple of vehicles to then split up? Even after they were together for three, five, or 10 plus years in a non-marital relationship. To add insult to injury, the man meets another woman and marries her within three months of meeting her. What is that? How does that happen? Why didn't he marry the mother of his children? Why did he waste her time? Well--she wasn't “The One,” she was “The Placeholder.”

So, are you or someone you know is in a long-term relationship? And has it evaded marriage? Well, this podcast episode is for you. Join Lady V and me as we discuss the “The Placeholder,” “The One,” and the importance of loving yourself.

  • Waiting for God’s BEST – S2-DE5

    Lady Vs Weekly Devotional

Now the LORD God said, “It is not good (beneficial) for the man to be alone; I will make him a helper [one who balances him—counterpart who is] suitable and complementary for him.”

    Genesis 2:18, AMP

    Devotional

Our time is precious and we want to spend it wisely. I’m sure we can all agree; NO ONE wants to waste time in the wrong relationship.

That’s why God’s original plan, from the beginning, started with giving Adam the wife that was just right for him. So, God created Eve—God’s BEST for Adam.

God had an original plan for Adam and Eve which would serve a purpose, to be a successful relationship. And, it is the same plan for all that desire to have God’s BEST—today.

You see, God considers your purpose and that you are a treasured gift. You are loved by God! He doesn’t want you to just settle for anyone without a heads-up from HIM about the fit.

As a matter of fact, God’s BEST isn’t something HE would just throw together like a continental breakfast. God’s BEST was created to fit into your life like that missing puzzle piece that makes the picture look like the original design.

"God's Best," is worth the wait.Photo by Hisu lee on Unsplash

So, don’t rely on the opinions of others—seek God for the real background check.

God wants to prepare the right someone that can grow with you, appreciate you, and most importantly—love you like Jesus. No doubt, that’s that faithful love! But, it involves waiting for it. Anyone chosen for you by God is worth the wait.

Now, let’s keep in mind that no one is perfect—but JESUS. However, God can bring you together with the ONE that is perfect for YOU! He knows everyone’s heart and motive in life.

To clarify, the right person is without an agenda other than to please God. God wants you to have someone that is not going to check-out when things get tough but are there for the long haul.

Beloved, waiting on God for HIS best will save your heart from being devalued by someone that was never made for you. With this in mind, pray about it, wait, and receive the one that God has already created to love you.  Leave it to God, trust the process, and wait for God’s BEST!

As I close out, Psalm 84:11 Good News Translation states: “The LORD is our protector and glorious king, blessing us with kindness and honor. He does not refuse any good thing to those who do what is right.”

    Have faith in God.

    Jesus is LORD!!!

  • When God Says Go – S2E4

You may ask, “When God says go; what does that have to do with me?” Well, if you are anything like me, there have been times when I've made plans and nothing happened as I planned it. You know, the following old Yiddish proverb speaks to that point. It says, "We plan, God laughs."

Now, that doesn't mean we shouldn't make plans. But more importantly, we should consult God about our plans. When God says go is another way of saying, get and follow God’s directions before proceeding with your plans. So, let's look at what scripture says about it.

    God knows what’s best

    Proverbs 16:9 Amplified Bible says,

"A man’s mind plans his way [as he journeys through life], But the Lord directs his steps and establishes them." As you can see, God wants to direct our steps if we would just allow Him to do so.

We can also see this in Jeremiah 29:11 GOD’S WORD Translation, “I know the plans that I have for you, declares the Lord. They are plans for peace and not disaster, plans to give you a future filled with hope.” In other words, God wants what’s best for you.

    Don’t make a move without God's direction

Always ask God for direction because He will never lead you wrong.Original Photo by Ben White on Unsplash

In closing, if your plans have not been yielding good success--it's time for a change. Therefore, if you have some big decisions ahead of you, this podcast episode is for you. So, join Lady V and me as we discuss why God's direction is so important.

  • GOD’S WAY – S2-DE4

    Lady V's Weekly Devotional

Later, Jesus appeared again to the disciples beside the Sea of Galilee. This is how it happened. Several of the disciples were there—Simon Peter, Thomas (nicknamed the Twin), Nathanael from Cana in Galilee, the sons of Zebedee, and two other disciples. Simon Peter said, “I’m going fishing.” We’ll come, too,” they all said. So they went out in the boat, but they caught nothing all night.

At dawn Jesus was standing on the beach, but the disciples couldn’t see who he was. He called out, “Fellows, have you caught any fish?” “No,” they replied. Then he said, “Throw out your net on the right-hand side of the boat, and you’ll get some!”

So, they did, and they couldn’t haul in the net because there were so many fish in it. Then the disciple Jesus loved said to Peter, “It’s the Lord!” When Simon Peter heard that it was the Lord, he put on his tunic (for he had stripped for work), jumped into the water, and headed to shore.

The others stayed with the boat and pulled the loaded net to the shore, for they were only about a hundred yards from shore. When they got there they found breakfast waiting for them—fish cooking over a charcoal fire, and some bread.

“Now come and have some breakfast!” Jesus said. So Simon Peter went aboard and dragged the net to the shore. There were 153 large fish, and yet the net hadn’t torn.

    John 21:1-11, NLT

    Devotional

Some of you have been toiling over trying to do something but haven’t had any success. The thing to note is that God, being all-knowing, knows just what you need to do to have that good success.

Obviously, our efforts sometimes are not enough.  In fact, our way involves our intellect and perception of how things should be done. And unfortunately, we are limited in our knowledge.

But, the good news is—God is NOT limited. If we really want to see the overflow of good success in our lives, we must do things God’s Way.

God's word is His way.Photo by Aaron Burden on Unsplash

When we heed to the instruction of the Lord, we find that God’s Way of doing things always yields a good return.

And when we are obedient to what the Word of God tells us, we will begin to see good success. You see, Jesus is the Word made flesh. And Having Jesus with you IS your success. HIS word changes EVERYTHING!

Beloved, God knows our beginning, our ending, and all of the in-between. The LORD wants to help you through this life.  Just have an ear to hear and a heart to obey HIS instruction.

Divine provision can be poured out into your net if you would only accept HIS leading. It takes a humble person to receive instructions from God. So, take a step of humility and do things GOD’s Way.

“Commit everything you do to the LORD. Trust him, and he will help you.”

    Psalm 37:5, NLT

  • Set Free from Abuse – S2E3

Believe it or not, there are quite a few people who need to be set free from abuse. In fact, there are people in abusive relationships who don’t even realize it. For one thing, when most people hear the word ‘abuse’ they only relate it to physical harm.

    Abuse is not just physical

The Power and Control Wheel gives clear examples of abuse.

But sadly, that is not the case. In addition to physical harm, abusers often use verbal and/or emotional abuse tactics. Furthermore, abusers use those tactics to intimidate, manipulate, and control another person.

So, when we look at abuse from that viewpoint, a person can be in an abusive relationship totally unaware.

    Actions speak louder than words

Now, the scripture also warns us about abusive behaviors. In particular, 2 Timothy 3:1-5 English Standard Version lays it out very well. It says,

"1 But understand this, that in the last days there will come times of difficulty.

2 For people will be lovers of self, lovers of money, proud, arrogant, abusive, disobedient to their parents, ungrateful, unholy, 3 heartless, unappeasable, slanderous, without self-control, brutal, not loving good,

4 treacherous, reckless, swollen with conceit, lovers of pleasure rather than lovers of God,

5 having the appearance of godliness, but denying its power. Avoid such people."

It is clear to see, even in scripture, that abusers exhibit certain behaviors. As a result, abusers intimidate, manipulate, and control innocent people. And those people need to be set free from abuse.

The poet Maya Angelou said it like this, “When someone shows you who they are; believe them the first time.” In other words, actions speak louder than words.

Love is not supposed to hurt you or those you hold dear to your heart. Original Photo by Sydney Sims on Unsplash

    It’s time to get free

Finally, if you or someone you know is in a verbally, physically, and/or emotionally abusive relationship, this podcast episode will offer life-changing information. Join Lady V and me as we discuss how to be set free from abuse.

  • The Refreshing – S2-DE3

    Lady V's Weekly Devotional

O God, you are my God: I earnestly search for you. My soul thirsts for you; my whole body longs for you in this parched and weary land where there is no water.

    Psalm 63:1, NLT

    Devotional

Much like David, we can find ourselves in a wilderness, lacking and searching for something to quench our thirst and refuel our fire for living. Sometimes, you may feel like you’re alone in this, struggling in life with its many tugs and pulls. And, you need some help to continue on your journey.

The exhaustion can take its hold on you and you can feel EMPTY. You are about to give out, feeling weak with every step. Without a doubt, you’re spiritually weary from all the worry, and you’re tired.

Not only are you thirsty for a physical refreshing, but you need a spiritual refreshing as well. You may look to others, but no one can fill your cup. And, you’re still left thirsty.

Photo by Jared Erondu on Unsplash

The wilderness experience reveals that there is only one solution. The search leads to the ONLY answer—to be submerged in God’s presence. You see, there’s a need for the Living Water that only Jesus can give.

It is a refreshing of life that starts you on a journey of love. Not only do you receive the greatest gift of salvation, but you receive all that you need in HIM.

There’s a relationship with Jesus that comes with a lifetime guarantee that you are never alone, and HE is always with you. No matter what comes your way, the LORD can give you a rest that refreshes your Spirit, Body, and Soul. He can fill your cup to overflowing.

Jesus said, “Are you weary, carrying a heavy burden? Then come to me. I will refresh your life, for I am your oasis” (See Matthew 11:28, TPT). You see, an oasis is defined as a fertile spot in a desert, where water is found. Also, it is a pleasant or peaceful area in the midst of a difficult, troubled, or hectic place or situation.

In fact, Jesus is all that you’ve been searching for. He’s the Prince of Peace, a perfect Friend, a Wonderful Counselor, a Deliverer, the Bread of Life, the Comforter, the

  • The Divine Delays in Life – S2E2

First, if you are like me, there have been times when you asked or prayed for something to happen but it didn't happen right away.

Of course, in those times the question was, "Why is it taking so long," or “Is it even going to happen?” Nonetheless, there was clearly a delay.

So, let's look at the definition of delay. It means to put off to a later time; to defer; to postpone. Now, a divine delay, on the other hand, is when God intervenes on a person's behalf.

    Trusting God’s timing

    God's timing is always perfect.
Photo by Brooke Campbell on Unsplash

In fact, throughout the Holy Bible God is very specific about timing. More specifically, we can see some of the many examples of His timing in Ecclesiastes 3:1-8 Amplified Bible (AMP):

1 There is a season (a time appointed) for everything and a time for every delight and event or purpose under heaven—

2 A time to be born and a time to die; A time to plant and a time to uproot what is planted.

3 A time to kill and a time to heal; A time to tear down and a time to build up.

4 A time to weep and a time to laugh; A time to mourn and a time to dance.

5 A time to throw away stones and a time to gather stones; A time to embrace and a time to refrain from embracing.

6 A time to search and a time to give up as lost; A time to keep and a time to throw away.

7 A time to tear apart and a time to sew together; A time to keep silent and a time to speak.

8 A time to love and a time to hate; A time for war and a time for peace.

You see, with God, it is always about His timing.

Lastly, do you find yourself wondering why certain things in your life haven’t happened yet? Then this podcast episode will definitely offer some perspective.

Join Lady V and me as we discuss the purpose of divine delays.

  • Ordered Steps – God’s Perfect Timing – S2-DE2

    Lady V’s Weekly Devotional Episode

“In their hearts humans plan their course, but the LORD establishes their steps.”

    Proverbs 16:9, NIV

    Devotional

You ever met someone that changed your life and you couldn’t help but think-- “This was meant to happen”? Well, this is what I’d call a divine appointment in God’s Perfect Timing. It’s not just something you can explain—But God.

    Walking in the right direction.
Photo by Gaelle Marcel on Unsplash

Our steps can be guided by God’s hand. And, this was the case in the story of a Samaritan woman who came to a well on THE day that Jesus was there to meet a need she did not realize that she had.

In, John chapter 4, the Samaritan woman came to draw water from a well. She had no idea that this was her divine appointment day.

When the Samaritan woman reaches the well, Jesus asks her for a drink. This woman was shocked that He being a Jew even spoke to her. Jews and Samaritans stayed away from each other because of over 700 years of religious and racial prejudice.

However, Jesus was not like the rest. He would talk with anyone that would respond. And this day, the Samaritan woman responded.

For the Samaritan woman, she’d never met a man like Jesus. He told her about things that she’d never heard. Most importantly, He captured her interest, even more, when he told her about the Living Water and about her life.

Jesus read her like a “best-selling” novel. However, he did not make her feel judged. He showed love toward her, which let her know that she mattered.

You see, she had a need. No doubt, the reckless decisions she made were proof of it. There was something missing in her life. There was something she was looking for, and her need was a spiritual one, not a physical one.

She had been through five husbands and was with a man now that wasn’t even her husband. She’d been chasing something that would never fill her, but would always run out.

But, THAT day she met the ‘Giver’ of the LIVING WATER that would never run out.

She ran back to town to share with them that she had met Jesus, and He told her everything she ever did. (John 4:39-40) The Samaritans came to Jesus and amazed by Him, wanted Him to stay a while. So, He stayed a few days.

When they met Jesus, their encounter with Him settled so deeply in their hearts that they knew they were in the presence of the Savior of the world. (John 4:42) He didn’t come to condemn them,

  • Faith Through the Storm – S2E1

Although we are not talking about the weather, we know that storms have three stages: a start, a duration, and an end. This is also true about the storms of life. In other words, everyone falls into one of the three stages mentioned above. But what part does faith play in the whole scheme of things?

Stressed and WorriedPhoto by Nik Shuliahin on Unsplash

What is faith and why is it important?

Believe it or not faith impacts every area of our lives in varying degrees. Moreover, according to Dictionary.com faith is confidence or trust in a person or thing. Now, when we look at faith from that perspective it is easy to see that we use faith every day.

    Next, let's look at the definition of faith according to Hebrews 11:1-2 The Amplified Version;

1 Now faith is the assurance (title deed, confirmation) of things hoped for (divinely guaranteed), and the evidence of things not seen [the conviction of their reality—faith comprehends as fact what cannot be experienced by the physical senses]. 2 For by this [kind of] faith the men of old gained [divine] approval.

As you can see, from a biblical perspective, faith takes what Jesus made available at the cross.

    Jesus in the boat

    Matthew 8:24-27 Amplified Bible (AMP)

24 And suddenly a violent storm arose on the sea, so that the boat was being covered by the waves; but Jesus was sleeping. 25 And the disciples went and woke Him, saying, “Lord, save us, we are going to die!”

26 He said to them, “Why are you afraid, you men of little faith?” Then He got up and rebuked the winds and the sea, and there was [at once] a great and wonderful calm [a perfect peacefulness]. 27 The men wondered in amazement, saying, “What kind of man is this, that even the winds and the sea obey Him?”

So, if life has you in the midst of a storm this podcast episode is for you. Join Lady V and me as we discuss the different storms of life and how to come out on the other side victoriously.
