We The Sheeple

Has anyone ever told that something helps "keep them grounded"? Perhaps it's a beloved pet, long walks on the beach.....or plugging yourself into an electrical outlet. That's right folks, this episode we're talking about the wellness trend known as Grounding (or Earthing depending on the particular brand of pseudoscience you prefer).

What if I told you better sleep, lower blood pressure and reduced inflammation were easily within your grasp? Well then buckle-up, all you need is a credit card and 7-10 days while you await the arrive of your electrically conductive bedsheet to arrive in the mail. Shocking.

It's here. The inescapable inevitability. You can't run. You can't hide. That's right, this week we're tackling the bear that is COVID-19. Unless you're an extraterrestrial picking up this transmission on your space-pod slinger I don't need to introduce you to the pandemic that flipped 2020 upside down. Everyone has heard about it. And when everyone hears, everyone talks. And considering there's a small fraction of the population that's actually qualified to speak knowledgably on virology, you know there's a mother load of misinformation out there.  Buckle in folks, it's gonna be like eating your ice cream cone with a slingshot: shocking, a little painful and oh so tasty.

For our maiden voyage we're covering a blast from the past. A blast from 1918 to be specific. The Spanish Flu was the worst influenza pandemic of the 20th century killing an estimated 50,000,000 people worldwide. 100 years later I'm sure we've learned a lot and don't fall for the same silly ideas people back then did right? *Sigh*
