A special edition of the show where for the first time we do an outside broadcast from the Hampshire SEND Conference held at the Utilita Bowl in Southampton on February 6th 2026.
We were there at the invitation of friend of the show Laura Hamson to see how the special educational needs of children, such as those with autism and ADHD, are being met and engaged with by teaching staff across the county.
It was an inspiring and insightful visit which both illuminated the challenges and the rewards of the work that the staff do, plus many interesting parallels and food for thought for those of us in the professional world.
Special thanks to Laura and all the Hampshire SENCOs who made me feel so welcome on the day, and took the time to chat 🙏🏻
In this episode, we cover topics including:
The need for teaching staff and children to co-regulate for best results. How AI used creatively and responsibly can benefit children, parents and staff. The preparation required for young people passing from the teaching environment into working life. The parallels between the learning environment and the workplace.Examples of positive leadership styles when implementing inclusivity at scale with limited resources. For feedback, suggestions or to get in touch, please email [email protected] ✍🏻
