  • 046: Personal Finance Tips and Tricks with Jordan Goodman

In this episode, I am chatting with America's Money Answers Man - Jordan Goodman. He is a nationally-recognized expert on personal finance. He is a regular guest on numerous radio and television call-in shows across the country, answering questions on personal financial topics. He appears frequently on The View, Fox News Network, Fox Business Network, CNN, CNBC and CBS evening news.

Jordan is also a speaker and seminar leader on personal finance topics for business executives, students, associations, investment clubs, employees and others.

Here are the topics we discussed:

    1. How to use the Credit Line Banking strategy to pay off all of your debts much faster than you ever thought possible. This includes mortgages, credit cards, student loans and car loans. I know you are very familiar with this strategy but I still think it will help your followers understand how to pay off many debts, not just their mortgages.
    2. How to improve your credit report and credit score by getting errors off of it and what laws you can use to boost your credit score.
    3. How to verify that you are making the correct mortgage payment and get a refund if you have been overpaying. The three areas where mistakes are made most commonly are adjustable rate loan. changes, escrow and private mortgage insurance (PMI).
    4. When it might make sense to sell your life insurance policy for hundreds of thousands of dollars instead of letting the policy lapse worthlessly. This is money you can use to grow a portfolio of passive income real estate.
    5. When it makes sense to refinance your car loan to a lower rate and different maturity to boost your cash flow.

Bob is the author of a number of books on sales, marketing and influence, with total book sales of well over a million copies. His book, The Go-Giver, coauthored with John David Mann, itself has sold over 850,000 copies and it has been translated into 28 languages.

          • What is the premise of the book?
          • You talk about the entrepreneurial spirit but what about those who aren’t entrepreneurs. Does the message in The Go-Giver still apply to them?

          • Was there one piece of advice you received, before you even knew anything about what being a go-giver entailed that was a difference-maker for you?
          • Are there misconceptions about what being a Go-Giver is? I mean, the name itself almost implies that you give constantly. Can you be taken advantage of that way? For example, how does a Go-Giver tell people, “No, I don’t want to do that.”?
          • Can you share some of your favorite books?
