The story of the government's response to Hurricane Helene is a story of layered failure, incompetence, and evil in three parts. First, is generalized federal waste, fraud, and abuse of U.S. tax payers' dollars. While it has given billions in foreign aid since the start of 2024, it has given only $750 to those impacted by Helene. Second, is specific federal waste, fraud, and abuse. We learned this week that FEMA (the federal agency specifically tasked with responding to natural disasters) has spent billions settling illegal migrants in the U.S., leaving it cash strapped to help out actual American citizens who recently lost everything. Finally, is intentional evil. There are numerous and ongoing reports on the ground of private citizens seeking to help victims being delayed or completely prevented by FEMA and other government agencies from getting to those in need. The key takeaway here is that government is never coming to help, and may actually actively prevent you from getting help from others, so preparing yourself and building your local network is paramount to respond to these kinds of disasters in the future.

"Rational ignorance" is a real phenomenon, that predominates our politics. When the average voter does not even know or understand the basic facts underlying their policy preferences, they can't possibly ascertain whether that policy will actually be in their self-interest or not (it generally is not). This week we discuss a recent questionnaire demonstrating that voters don't know the first thing about corporate profits but will cheer the politician that promises to come down on corporations the hardest. And, "The Other 98%" graces us with another room temperature IQ meme this week, blaming "deregulation" on a recent listeria outbreak in a major deli meat processing facility. Ignorance is the foundation on which our reality of poor leadership, worse policies, and horrendous outcomes lie.

A second attempt was made on Trump's life this past week and for the miniscule amount of coverage the mainstream media gave it over a barely 48-hour news cycle, most of that time was dedicated to manufacturing the narrative that Trump is to blame for unhinged leftists and regular MSNBC consumers constantly trying to kill him. As if that wasn't bad enough, Hillary Clinton (of all people) took this opportune moment to shill her next memoir and complain to Rachel Maddow that the media isn't tough enough on Trump. It appears that the media's sole purpose (other than groveling to the powerful) is to warp reality into some funhouse version, 180 degrees from the truth.

Last week's Trump-Harris debate was a predictable nightmare for Trump. Too undisciplined to stay on message and avoid falling for Harris's personal insult traps, he missed a major opportunity to drive home the point that she embodies the regime that has screwed us all over for so long and that, if nothing else, he stands opposite her and the permanent state. The Fake Reason They Hate/Censor Sam Francis: https://charlestoncitypaper.com/2010/04/14/the-problem-with-sam-francis/ The Real Reason: Francis conceived of politics primarily in terms of power. He argued that a managerial class—bureaucrats whose dominance of technical knowledge and jargon gave them the keys to powerful organizations, corporations, and ultimately the state—had seized power since the Progressive Era. According to Francis, the managerial regime set forth a liberal ideology to justify and reinforce their dominance and corrode right-wing institutions. Underpinning the managerial regime, Francis thought, was an alliance between regime elites and an underclass paid off by the state with wealth robbed from the middle. Francis wrote these words decades ago. As we sit here today with a near permanent bureaucracy, that none of us ever have or will get to vote for, which is the primary ruler of every minute detail of our lives as made evident by the fact that despite changing elected parties/politicians, government policy only ever moves in the direction of increasing state power while acting in direct contradiction to the interests of the electorate, it should be clear to any rational/objective observer that Francis was more prophet than pariah on this point. Those wielding this power hate Francis for forbidden thoughts like these, but unwilling or unable to refute them, they fall back on the tried and true "racism!" refrain, in the hopes you'll ignore the entirety of his thought just because he held other uncomfortable views. The US Department of Health and Human Services admitted recently that fluoride can lower your IQ, so not surprisingly, a recent study found that young adults tend to find information from "expert" sources are more reliable. In other words, the same experts you're supposed to blindly trust in all things will literally make you dumber so it is harder to flex your critical thinking muscles and question their authority. This is a major meme underlying the unchecked growth of the managerial class so we take it on and destroy it for the betterment of mankind.

From Joe Biden battling the teleprompter (and losing), to Kamala Harris finally releasing her regressive/socialist tax policies, the DNC Convention this past week was the fun house, horror show version of a grade school student election. And, with the DNC's dirty, political lawfare all but assuring that RFK, Jr. was going to be mathematically eliminated from winning the 2024 election, he did the noble thing: dropped out of the race and endorsed Donald Trump, ostensibly for the purpose of a well-deserved cabinet post to hopefully help a second Trump administration actually drain the swamp this time. Only time will tell if that all happens though, but it's good to see the Democrats overplay their hand (again) causing them to lose the power they will lie, cheat, and steal to get.

U.S. Representative Clay Higgins recently called out the FBI for anomalous "investigative" tactics dealing with the assessment of the attempted Trump assassination last month. Apparently, the FBI authorized the release of the shooter's body back to the family for cremation within 10 days of the events, released the crime scene within three days, and cleaned up biologics at the scene, all without alerting Congress knowing full well Congress would want its own independent investigation into the events of July 13th. This makes it impossible for any independent investigation to be conducted in order to confirm or call into question the FBI's conclusions. Now, why on earth would a bunch of unelected bureaucrats, in an executive agency that is operating under the authority of the political rival of Trump do such a thing?
