Good morning, Boston! This is your weather forecast coming in hot (or should I say, cold?) for Sunday, February 9th.
Buckle up, because we've got a Winter Storm Warning in effect, and Mother Nature is about to drop some serious snow on us. Overnight, expect a winter wonderland with snow falling steadily. Temperatures will dip down to around 27 degrees, with an east wind blowing around 7 miles per hour. We're looking at a 90 percent chance of precipitation, with potentially 4 to 8 inches of snow accumulation by morning.
Sunday's forecast continues the snowy saga. Snow is likely before 10 in the morning, with a slight chance of snow showers until 11. Temperatures will struggle to reach a chilly 34 degrees, with northeast winds shifting to northwest and gusting up to 20 miles per hour. Expect another 1 to 3 inches of snow to add to our winter collection.
Sunday night brings a bit of relief with partly cloudy skies and temperatures dropping to a crisp 18 degrees. Monday looks sunny but cold, with a high near 32 degrees and west winds between 8 to 10 miles per hour.
The rest of the week plays temperature ping-pong. Tuesday will be partly sunny with a high of 33 degrees, while Wednesday keeps things cool with a high near 30. Thursday brings a potential mix of rain and snow, with temperatures climbing to a slightly warmer 40 degrees.
Friday offers some sunshine with a high of 32 degrees, but don't get too excited - nighttime temperatures will plummet back to 13 degrees.
For those winter warriors heading out, dress in layers, keep your emergency kit stocked, and be prepared for changing road conditions.
