Good morning, Columbus! This is your weather update for today, coming in hot (or should I say, mild?) from the National Weather Service in Wilmington.
Let's break down today's forecast with some meteorological magic. We're looking at a day that's playing a bit of weather roulette. Expect showers likely to crash the party after 3 pm, with some patchy fog trying to make a morning appearance before 9 am. But don't worry, we'll have some partly sunny moments to brighten things up.
Today's high temperature will hover around 57 degrees Fahrenheit, with winds starting calm and then shifting to a gentle southerly breeze between 5 to 9 miles per hour in the afternoon. There's a 70 percent chance of precipitation, so keep that umbrella nearby - you might need it!
Tonight gets even more interesting. We're looking at showers and possibly a thunderstorm before midnight, with a chance of continued showers until 2 am. The temperature will dip down to around 41 degrees Fahrenheit, with winds doing a little dance from south to west.
Thursday brings more moisture with showers likely after 3 pm. Expect cloudy skies and a high near 48 degrees Fahrenheit, with west winds between 11 to 15 miles per hour and gusts up to 25 miles per hour.
As we move into Thursday night, we might see a weather mix - rain showers potentially turning to snow after midnight, though accumulation looks minimal.
Friday looks like a breath of fresh air with mostly sunny conditions and a high near 52 degrees Fahrenheit. The weekend will be cooler, with temperatures dropping to the high 30s and plenty of sunshine.
Next week, we're looking at a potential rainy Tuesday with temperatures climbing back up to 54 degrees Fahrenheit.
