Good morning, Columbus! I'm your friendly neighborhood weather forecaster, and boy, do we have an exciting week ahead!
Today, we're looking at a gorgeous day with mostly sunny skies and temperatures climbing to a toasty 78 degrees Fahrenheit. Those winds will start light from the southeast, then shift south and pick up to about 8 to 13 miles per hour, with occasional gusts up to 23 miles per hour. It's like Mother Nature is giving us a gentle, warm hug.
Tonight, things get a bit more dramatic. Clouds will start rolling in, and temperatures will drop to around 59 degrees Fahrenheit. Expect some breezy south winds around 10 to 16 miles per hour, with gusts potentially hitting 30 miles per hour.
Saturday is when things get interesting! We're looking at a 60 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms, especially after 5 p.m. Temperatures will hover near 74 degrees Fahrenheit, with winds getting pretty energetic at 21 to 23 miles per hour. Expect between a tenth and quarter inch of rain, with potential for more if thunderstorms decide to make a grand entrance.
Saturday night brings a 100 percent chance of precipitation, with potential rainfall between 1 and 2 inches. Sunday continues the wet trend with a 70 percent chance of showers, mainly before 2 p.m., and temperatures cooling down to around 62 degrees Fahrenheit.
The week then transitions to some beautiful, clearer days. Monday brings sunny skies and a high near 55 degrees Fahrenheit, and Tuesday warms up nicely to 69 degrees Fahrenheit with full sunshine.
By Wednesday, we might see some clouds rolling back in, with a chance of showers Wednesday night.
Heads up, weather watchers! We've got a Wind Advisory in effect, so secure those loose outdoor items.
