Good morning, Columbus! I'm your weather buddy, bringing you the latest forecast that's colder than a polar bear's breakfast.
We've got a wild weekend ahead, folks! Tonight, expect a mix of rain and snow with temperatures hovering around 34 degrees. Winds will be dancing from the south at around 10 miles per hour. There's a 90 percent chance of precipitation, but don't worry about significant snow accumulation.
Saturday starts with rain before 11 in the morning, climbing to a chilly 40 degrees. Those south winds will shift north in the afternoon, bringing between a tenth and quarter inch of precipitation. Bundle up!
Saturday night turns downright frigid, with temperatures plummeting to 19 degrees and north winds howling at 11 miles per hour. Sunday continues the winter drama with a 50 percent chance of snow after 9 in the morning. Temperatures will struggle to reach 23 degrees.
Hold onto your thermal underwear, because Monday, Martin Luther King Day, brings an arctic blast with a high of just 10 degrees. Monday night dips to a bone-chilling 1 degree.
Tuesday and Wednesday offer a slight reprieve with mostly sunny skies and highs around 12 to 17 degrees. But don't get too excited - Wednesday night drops back to 10 degrees.
By Thursday and Friday, we'll see temperatures creeping up to a balmy 30 to 31 degrees. It's practically beach weather, Columbus!
A word of caution: there's an extreme cold watch in effect, so layer up, protect those exposed areas, and check on your vulnerable neighbors and pets.
