    WEATHER TRIVIA:

1857 – HURRICANE  DIANE STALLS NEAR CAPE FEAR, N.C. WITH 120 MPH WINDS AND 18” OF RAIN.

    WEATHER-CAST

LOOKS LIKE THE SOGGY WEATHER WILL GET LESS AND LESS AS WE CONTINUE INTO THE WEEKEND.

A SHOWER OR SOME DRIZZLE POSSIBLE INTO TONIGHT, OTHERWISE MOST OF THE TIME WILL BE RAIN FREE. TEMPS WILL BE NEAR OR JUST OVER 80 AND IT WILL BE HUMID. THE WEEKEND LOOKS NICE WITH A FAIR AMOUNT OF SUN…TEMPS INTO THE 80S AND HUMIDITY – MODERATE. AS FOR FLORENCE..SHE WILL BATTER THE CAROLINAS WITH HIGH WIND, STORM SURGE AND RAIN WHICH CAN EXCEED 25”…..AND THEN WEAKEN OUT AND WIND UP IN THE OHIO VALLEY NEXT WEEK.

THAT MEANS A NICE WEEKEND FOR US.

    THE FORECAST:

TODAY: MOSTLY CLOUDY- CHANCE OF SHOWERS  75-80

TONIGHT: PARTLY CLOUDY- PATCHY FOG – LOWER 60S

    FRI: PARTLY CLOUDY- 80-85

SAT: SUNNY AND WARM – MID 80S

Florence Weakens – Threat Does Not !

Florence has weakened overnight to a Cat 2…still nothing to sneeze at but there’s a good chance she will rebuild before hitting land over se N.Carolina. Florence will still slow down and enable her wind and rain to become the threat all have been talking about. Early next week the ghost of Florence rides up Appalachians – may bring a pounding of rain in her track. Below – today’s severe weather threat in dark green and yellow – followed by her track and timetable of wind.

    WEATHER TRIVIA:

1979 – HURRICANE FREDERICK HITS MOBILE, ALABAMA – 132MPH WINDS..2.3 BILLION IN DAMAGES

    WEATHER-CAST

OUR FRONT NOW EXTENDS FROM CAPE COD TO ATLANTA. IT WILL SINK A LITTLE SOUTH, OTHERWISE WILL CONTINUE TO SERVE AS AN INSTIGATOR FOR SOME SHOWERS OR THUNDERSTORMS FROM TIME TO TIME RIGHT INTO FRIDAY. IT WILL STAY HUMID AND WITH ANY SUN..TEMPS COULD EASILY HEAD TOWARD OR JUST OVER 80S.

BY FRIDAY…HURRICANE FLORENCE WILL BE APPROACHING THE CAROLINAS. WIND AND RAIN FROM FLORENCE WILL BE LIKELY FROM SOUTHERN DELAWARE TO EASTERN NORTH CAROLINA. MEANWHILE OF RIDGE OF HIGH PRESSURE WILL NOSE IN ACROSS THE NORTHEAST, AND IT COULD BE JUST IN TIME FOR THE WEEKEND. LOOKS LIKE RAIN FROM FLORENCE COULD BE CONFINED FROM SOUTHERN VIRGINIA TO SOUTH CAROLINA AND THE TARGET STILL SEEMS TO BE NO. CAROLINA.

    THE FORECAST:

TODAY: CLOUDS- SOME SUN- HUMID – A SHOWER OR THUNDERSTORM – 80

TONIGHT: CLOUDY- SHOWERS AND A THUNDERSTORM – MID 60S

THURS: MOSTLY CLOUDY- SHOWERS AND A THUNDERSTORM – 75-80

FRI: CLOUDY, SHOWERS – LOWER 80S

    Fear Florence !

Very Dangerous Florence is already sending feeder bands of rain toward the Carolinas. 140 mph winds could increase today. Storm will slow or stall upon approaching the coasts of the Carolinas. Models still target No. Carolina..but Euro Model wants to bring it south along the coast and then move it inland near Savannah, Ga. May not be wrong. No matter what..life threatening storm surge..flooding and winds will hit the coasts from N.C.
to Georgia. No one along these coasts should try to ride this one out..if so..they should put their telephone numbers on the soles of their shoes.
Below- latest track of Florence & expected wind time table…and rainfall.

    Life Threatening Florence………….

Hurricane Florence – a major destructive hurricane with 140-150 mph winds heading west northwest toward the Carolinas  of The U.S.  In addition to many questions on her track…it  looks certain that she will directly affect the Eastern third of the Carolinas with destructive wind..rain- floods and storm surge and then inland areas as far northwest as Virginia. Since the storm will stall…rainfall could easily measure over 2-3 FEET IN PLACES BY THE TIME THE WEEKEND IS OUT.  This storm will become historical as far as flooding, and should not be taken lightly.
Below…its track…timing on storm force winds.
