Listen below to this recorded shiur by Rabbi Brovender on Parshat Bamidbar (see below).
This week Rabbi Brovender discuses the background of the book of Bamidbar, specifically why Chazal called it Sefer Hapkudim. He will learn Rashi, Ramban, Sefat Emet, and Kedushat Levi and adds that the Zohar asks, 'What is the most profound chapter of the chumash? Alufei Esav.' The Zohar meant that if you find something in the chumash that seems trivial or unimportant, you'll know those pesukim can only be understood profoundly, kabbalistically. They can't be taken at face value and so it is with much of Sefer Bamidbar.
