WEEI Providence

Jon Meterperal (@meatstweets) and Coach Tim Welsh (@timwelsh5) kick off this week’s show discussing the PGA senior open from Newport. We discuss the growth of Joe Mazzulla. We also discuss the state of the Patriots going training camp.

There's a great need in animal rescue for at risk dogs and it's a problem across our country. "Save One Soul Animal Rescue League (SOSARL) is a non-profit volunteer-driven dog rescue organization based in Rhode Island and serving the Southern New England area. Our dogs primarily come from overcrowded high-kill shelters in the South and/or our extensive foster home network in the Southern US. We think every dog deserves a loving home and family – SOS is here to help them find one!" Emma Dawley, Executive Director of SOSARL, joins us to speak about their efforts in pairing the right dog with the right home. The process is thoughtful and one that isn't taken lightly. Listen as Emma details that, as far back as the natural disaster of Hurricane Katrina (2005), companion pets became part of rescue efforts placing some dogs in various states and how Massachusetts became one state that has strictest adoption procedures to this day. Among the many events to particiapte in (i.e adoption events, river fires) we can join them in celebrating a double birthday. "SOSARL is turning 10! And SOS reTAIL is turning 5!"  Their double birthday bash on Sunday 7/7, will have doggie carnival games, costume contest, raffle prizes, a fun zone, Photo Booth, adoptable dogs, free doggie ice cream, a Circus Pawrade, Sniffari and a Sniffy Spot area for those super sniffers.

Ben Kichen and Tucker Silva (@TuckSilva) wrap up this week’s show with another red-hot edition of rapid-fire producer questions staring Joe Passarelli (@JoePa_WEEI). Joe wants to know Ben and Tucker’s thoughts on Sam Hauser getting sick on a duck boat, thoughts on two NBA trades and excessive fireworks use.

Ben Kichen and Tucker Silva (@TuckSilva) discuss if the Patriots should trade for Brandon Aiyuk? Why haven’t the Patriots tried to acquire Aiyuk? We discuss the NBA draft.

Ben Kichen and Tucker Silva (@TuckSilva) start the second hour of the show discussing the Patriots. Should Drake Maye be the starting QB for the Patriots week 1? Is the O-line good enough to protect the young QB?

Ben Kichen and Tucker Silva (@TuckSilva) discuss the development of Jarren Duran. Should Duran make the all-star team? Duran is ranked #5 in fantasy baseball rankings.

Ben Kichen and Tucker Silva (@TuckSilva) take your calls texts and tweets live on the air. Red Sox ownership seems to have apathy towards the team. Ownership seems to be more interested in player development than making a big splash.

Ben Kichen and Tucker Silva (@TuckSilva) kick off this week’s show discussing the Red Sox. The Sox lost 9-2 to the Padres Friday night. Alex Cora thinks the Red Sox should be greedy at the trade deadline. The Sox are in the mix for the wildcard.

Scott Cordischi (@ScottCordischi) and (abc 6) Nick Coit (@NCoitABC6) wrap up this week’s show with producer Joe Passarelli’s (@JoePa_WEEI) question of the week.  Joe wants to know if Scott and Nick are team Kendrick Perkins or team Brian Scalabrine.

Scott Cordischi (@ScottCordischi) and (abc 6) Nick Coit (@NCoitABC6) discuss T.J. Sorrentine getting hired by the Wizards. Christian McCaffery was in town this week. The Red Sox are playing well.
