From the stunning anime-original additions to Higuruma’s Gavel to the heartbreaking conclusion of the trial, we’re asking the tough questions:

• Is Yuji at fault for Sukuna’s massacre? We discuss the dual reality of whether Yuji is truly responsible for the devastation in Shibuya or if he’s simply taking on a burden that isn't his to carry.

• Why did Higuruma let Yuji live? We analyze Higuruma’s background as a defense attorney and why Yuji’s confession changed everything for him.

• Should Yuji feel guilty for killing his siblings? We look back at the fight against Eso and Kechizu and debate if Yuji should hold onto that guilt, given he had no idea of their connection at the time.

We also spend some time catching up on our Marvel Rivals rankings and the struggle of the "end-of-season" grind.

Whether you're here for the JJK Season 3 analysis or the gaming banter, join us for a deep dive into the narrative brilliance of Gege Akutami’s world.

The trial has begun! In this episode of Weekend Weebs, Alonzo and Jason dive deep into Jujutsu Kaisen Season 3, Episode 8, and the tragic, gavel-smashing introduction of Hiromi Higuruma.

Is Higuruma just a "Nanami 2.0," or does he bring something entirely new to the Culling Game? We break down his atmospheric backstory, his "99% conviction rate" trauma, and the philosophical question: Was Higuruma actually justified in his courtroom outburst against the judge and prosecutor?

In this episode, we discuss:

• ⚖️ The "Nanami Vibe": Comparing the strength and "weary professional" energy of Higuruma and Nanami Kento.

• 🎬 The Rotoscoping Controversy: Why did this episode feel so "real"? We debate MAPPA’s heavy use of rotoscoping (or "hard references") and whether it takes away from the exaggerated, cartoon element of animation.

• 🐌 Pacing or "Slice of Life"? We address the anime-only complaints about waiting two weeks for a courtroom drama. Is the show spending too much time on characters "about to get clapped by Yuji"?

• 💪 The "Broly" Yuji Flashback: Reacting to the hilarious moment Yuji lifted a student by his face—and why no one in high school realized he was "special grade" back then.

• 🧾 Future Hype: A quick look ahead at Megumi vs. Reggie Star and the "Max Elephant" remix we can't wait to see animated.

• 📉 The "Expedited" Problem: Is Gege Akutami rushing the story? We look back at Season 1 and discuss how the "20 fingers" plot could have made JJK as long as Naruto or Dragon Ball.

• East vs. West Reception: Why did this episode hit a 9.8/10 on IMDb while Japanese fans felt underwhelmed? We look at the massive difference in American vs. Japanese consumption styles.

• Power Scaling & What-Ifs: Would Naoya have stood a better chance if he used a weapon?
