- Den of Thieves 2: Pantera (2025): If you like a good heist movie, this one will make you think, it will offer all the action, chase scenes, and shoot-outs that you need for a good thrill ride, and it serves up Gerard Butler and O'Shea Jackson, Jr. as a pair of thieves that need a lot of figuring out

- Better Man (2024): This film, which is based on the life of British pop star Robbie Williams, has been a major puzzle for North American audiences where Williams is all but unknown. To add to the puzzlement, the biopic has, instead of a regular actor playing Williams, features a CGI chimpanzee which creates the feeling that maybe this is a Planeto of the Apes movie

- Missing You (Mini-Series) (2025): From the mind of writer Harlan Coben comes yet another murder mystery with more twists and turns than a politician's promise. Coben's previous works in this genre include "Fool Me Once," "The Stranger," and "Harlan Coben's Shelter." With a very tight, action-and-relationship-packed five instalments, this one will keep you on your toes, on the edge of your seat, and completely engaged, making it a perfect binge-watch. Set in the U.K., it's the story revolving around the life of Detective Inspector Kat Donovan of the London Police

- The Fire Inside (2024): This is a boxing movie with a lot of differences from what we have previously seen of this genre, largely because its protagonist, the boxer in question, is a woman, not a man, as was Sylverster Stallone's "Rocky," Raging Bull's Jake LaMotta ... 2004's "Million Dollar Baby" had a female boxer (Hilary Swank) at its core, but was a fictional movie, while "The Fire Inside" is the real thing, the story of Claressa "T-Rex" Shields who became the first American woman to win Olympic Gold in the boxing ring.

On Amazon Prime:

- Distant (2024): If ever there was a sci-fi space opera that should look and feel like an A-list film, it should be this one, given the talent behind it, which includes Distribution by Dreamworks, two stars with great credentials, and writers and directors who know their way around.

On Netflix:

- Squid Game season 2 (2024): This series, which is by far and away the most popular Netflix series worldwide with some 2.2 billion hours streamed, is back season 2, sort of. If you aren't familiar with this Korean production, dubbed into English for western viewers, it is full of brutal surprises.
