Weekends with Scott Shantz

On today's show:

ch. 1: As COVID-19 rages on in our province, we are now in the fourth wave of this pandemic. It is amazing how scientists have come up with a vaccine, but the information and research is not incorporated into what the government is doing.
Guest: Dr. Karina Zeidler - Family physician and co-founder of Protect Our Province BC

ch. 2: Last Tuesday, the B.C. General Employees' Union, or BCGEU for short, issued a strike notice for their employees at LifeLabs. Just yesterday, they had a big demonstration at the lab in Burnaby. So how is this going to be resolved?
Guest: Stephanie Smith - President, B.C. General Employees' Union (BCGEU)

ch. 3: The FSA test has been running for a long time. In fact, our producer, Jonathan Chung, told me how stressful it was for him back in 2009 when he was in 4th grade. According to the BC Teacher Federation, the tests are not a required part of the B.C. curriculum. However, the government still enforces these tests.
Guest: Teri Mooring - President, BC Teachers Federation

ch. 4: Designer on Vancouver mayor making pitch to allow up to 6 affordable homes on a single-family lot
If you were listening to the Mike Smyth show last Friday, we had the Mayor of Vancouver, Kennedy Stewart on to talk about his pitch to have 6 affordable homes on a single family lot.
