This week's albums: Holy Fawn - Dimensional Bleed [9/9/22], Sigh - Shiki [8/26/22]

We start the show with mild takes on a mild pepper, and finish up with hot takes on a band from a cold place just before what might be our first official anti-shoutout.

In between, we talk about the Emmy's we didn't watch including why we don't like Mr. Squid Game, dig into David Graeber's original 2013 essay On the Phenomenon of Bullshit Jobs, a Florida politician and his conspicuous choice in partner, and the absolute state of Moldova.

This week's albums: nouns - While of Unsound Mind [8/19/22] and n-So - The Unknowing [9/2/22].

Also on the chopping block: the results of taking a chance on some possibly past-date pork, a good few documentaries watched, a TV show only worth making it 20 seconds into, thoughts on House of the Dragon after three episodes, quick talk on Charlie Kaufman and his career, a spotlight on one of the weirdest RYMers we've found to date, and some classic energy drink talk based around a fandom page someone had a bit too much fun with.

Little delay in upload after I had to do work at my job that I usually don't do work at, but sticking with the format from last week we got reviews of two new albums: Julia Jacklin - Pre Pleasure [8/26/22] and Royal Coda - To Only a Few at First [8/12/22]. 

Stick through it for conversations about dinosaurs, some talk and clips from the first annual Birmingham Folk Fest, a follow-up on a band we've talked about earlier, a review of that film about Elon Musk's favorite Brit, a professor who doesn't know things, and an improvisational Indian classical show.

Two new albums this week to try out a new format: The Chats - Get Fucked [8/19/22], and Panda Bear & Sonic Boom - Reset [8/12/22].

We start off with a correction from last week before giving some thoughts on recent political news in the US and Finland, expectations for HBO's House of the Dragon, and whether or not there's any definitive version of a given album, or even a piece of art in a broad sense. 

No album this week, but we're talking about the new Alvvays single, Easy on Your Own, from their upcoming album Blue Rev. 

On top of that we talk some "good not great" older albums you should still check out, a new business idea, a terrible hiking experience, and an upcoming volunteer opportunity.
