Are you producing genuine spiritual fruit, or are you simply advertising faith you do not have? In Mark 11, Jesus encounters a fig tree full of leaves but completely empty of fruit. His response is striking, and the lesson it carries reaches far beyond that moment in history. This powerful teaching explores what it means to have the appearance of godliness without the power, and what God is calling His people back to in this generation.

Drawing from Mark 11:12-14, Matthew 15:8, 2 Timothy 3:5, Matthew 5:6, and the teachings of Leonard Ravenhill, this message unpacks the difference between religious performance and Spirit-produced transformation. You will learn why Jesus cursed the fig tree even though it was not the season for figs, what the Greek word kairos reveals about appointed moments in your spiritual life, and why the temple inspection in Mark 11 is just as relevant to your heart today as it was to Jerusalem then.

Key topics covered include the danger of leaves without fruit in the Christian life, how to identify areas of spiritual fruitlessness, the connection between faith, hunger, prayer, and genuine transformation, what it means to be the temple of the Holy Spirit, and how to reconnect to the source when your spiritual life feels dry or disconnected.

Whether you are a longtime believer who feels spiritually dry, someone questioning whether your faith is real, or a pastor or leader looking for a message on authentic Christianity, this teaching speaks directly to the heart of what it means to walk with God in a way that produces lasting, visible fruit.

Topics and keywords: spiritual fruit, fruitless Christianity, fig tree Mark 11, temple cleansing, Holy Spirit, authentic faith, Leonard Ravenhill, kairos moment, form of godliness, faith without works, hunger for God, spiritual transformation, Christian living, prayer and surrender, how to grow spiritually, bearing fruit as a Christian, Spirit-filled life, church and faith, genuine Christianity, Mark 11 Bible study, New Testament teaching, Christian discipleship, overcoming spiritual dryness, faith in God, James 2 faith and works.

  • What Are You Looking At? | Pastor Jesse Jernigan | 6.21.26 (Sermon)

Are you truly prepared for the return of Jesus Christ, or are you simply hoping things will work out when the moment comes? Matthew 25 and the parable of the ten virgins is one of the most sobering and relevant passages in all of Scripture for believers living in this hour.

In this message, we take a deep look at what it really means to be ready for Christ's return. Drawing from the cultural context of first-century Jewish weddings, we explore the three stages of betrothal, preparation, and arrival, and how each one mirrors the relationship between Jesus and His church. Just as a groom returned to his father's house to prepare a place before coming back for his bride, Jesus has gone ahead to prepare a place for us. And just as the bride's job was not to predict the timing but to stay prepared, our calling is the same.

We also unpack the powerful symbolism of oil in Scripture. Oil represents the Holy Spirit, consecration, visible testimony, and spiritual readiness. And here is the truth that changes everything: oil cannot be borrowed. No one can share their intimacy with God. No one can lend you their personal holiness or their living relationship with Jesus Christ. Church attendance and family faith are not substitutes for your own daily walk with Him.

Topics covered include the meaning of the parable of the ten virgins, the difference between anticipation and preparation, why the wise virgins brought extra oil, what it means that the door was shut, the biblical significance of oil and the Holy Spirit, how first-century Jewish wedding customs reveal the timeline of Christ's return, and the promise of Galatians 6:9 for believers who feel spiritually dry.

If you have been going through the motions but feel like your lamp is running low, this message is for you. Fresh oil is still available. The King is coming, and the question is not whether He will return. The question is whether you will be ready when He does.

Keywords: parable of the ten virgins, Matthew 25, signs of Jesus return, how to be ready for Christ's return, Holy Spirit and oil in the Bible, end times Bible study, Christian sermon on preparation, Jewish wedding customs and Bible prophecy, Galatians 6:9, spiritual readiness, second coming of Jesus, wise and foolish virgins explained, how to stay filled with the Holy Spirit, Christian living, faith and preparation
