  • Week 28 - LeCroqueMonsieur - Precision Breakbass
This week we continue the bass creations but with a hip-hop drum machine and another drum track. Yet again with my newly acquired Precision.
Some effects are samples straight out GarageBand, others were created with the bass harmonics and the Flashback pedal @dreat , @BurnedOutSun and our other guitarist gifted me on my birthday.
I tried to make something more ambitious than last week as well as pushing the envelope of the app (notably with filters which are motion controlled, so excuse the imprecision before the first break).
A lot of things are needed to make this more polished, notably giving more space to the buildup, less mess with so many tracks overlapping and a correct mastering.

  • Week 28 - endojo - Just About Where I Left It
Special thanks to my best friend D-Car for not just providing awesome bars whenever I ask him to help out with a song, but for being my best friend in and through every thicket ever grown.
Every wandering step has felt a little more intentional with you. You have taught me that sometimes asking less questions can lead to better answers.
Cheers to our best friends. Even when the tank runs dry, they never ask how far it is to the next town. They'll push that shit down the road mid-July with no shoes in the middle of the desert.

  • Week 28 - Ashtom - Deep Obsidian
We are walking deeper in the cave, following a whiff a hot air. It's probably coming from its volcanic heart, beating almost like a human one. The heat is tough on the sense and dizziness almost won the battle. But then, the gallery is climbing up again and the atmosphere gets fresher and the drizzle of some nearby water source can be felt on the skin.
Deep Obsidian is the fifth part of a sonic experience designed to be listened outside, preferably surround be nature. It's completely produced with the Synthstrom Deluge, except for the mastering step done with some plugin in Audacity (namely Mercurial Tones Dagon to tame some resonances and TDR Nova to shape the overall spectral balance, no Ozone this time).
Thanks for listening, thanks for commenting and have a nice week!

  • Week 28 - ONE HIT KILL - Sub WIP fill - Nanoloop2/LSDJ
bit of a WIP but I think there's something here that can be crafted into a track good enough to release and or play live. Inspired by a mates reference track that was a thousand times better but had sounds that were reminiscent of nanoloop in there so I had to try.

  • Week 28 - 0x_colt - NIGHTWALK
I gotta say, I'm honestly quite proud of how this one turned out despite a major time crunch for me this week. It came together naturally and didn't require a lot of tinkering to make it sound 'good enough'. I started this on Friday morning and had it finished up by the evening time, but didn't have enough time to make a sweet video to match, so enjoy your VS2 slop for now. ;) I had to upload by Saturday because I was leaving on Sunday morning, so I basically lost an entire day of making a track/video.
I used a bunch of single-note violin and viola samples from the free-to-use Philharmonia sample pack (https://philharmonia.co.uk/resources/sound-samples/ - fantastic resource), pitched and spliced and diced 'em about until they sounded like a little spooky melody, and then added some drums and bass. I haven't really made anything like this with a multi-sampled instrument, so it was kind of fun.
Let me know what you think down below!

  • Week 28 - nukecult - Lotus
Much better week this time. I switched to exploring via the OXI E16 connected to the M8. In the end I didn't perform it, because I am really bad at it. the song had not direction and I was just turning knobs like.a 6 year old kid. But this exploration helped me find interesting sounds.
