  • Week 28 - endojo - Just About Where I Left It
    Special thanks to my best friend D-Car for not just providing awesome bars whenever I ask him to help out with a song, but for being my best friend in and through every thicket ever grown.
    Every wandering step has felt a little more intentional with you. You have taught me that sometimes asking less questions can lead to better answers.
    Cheers to our best friends. Even when the tank runs dry, they never ask how far it is to the next town. They'll push that shit down the road mid-July with no shoes in the middle of the desert.

  • Week 28 - squelette - lfo ufo
    Had an idea a couple weeks ago to do a track based on two instances of hypersynth, set up to be very different from one another and taking turns, with drastic LFOs that don't match. Also used some of the m8 library samples as well as some of my own.
    In the end as I listen back, it doesn't feel like the result has anything to do with the premise but I'm happy with where I landed!
    This track comes with a free gif sight of my cat Toto, as seen from the POV of a mantis shrimp

  • Week 27 - monstret - missing you
    Soundcloud version where I fixed some of what annoyed me when I listened back (replaced instruments etc.)
    sorry, another rush to finish. not a balanced mix and lots of pokey, harsh instruments.
    the little vocal at the end was made using solaria in synth v.

  • Week 27 - Tomatron.Jones - Triplet Mathrocktronica
    I've been meaning to do more weekly beats that leverage recording guitar, bass, and synth to create more of a 'band' sound than just some sample-based producer-y IDM. I recorded some guitar riffs and chords, then some bass on top of a fun 'K-Pop' drum sample from splice. A sort or triplet riff and strum sort of emerged. Then added some synths and other samples and random little ear-candy. It's kind of a fun indie-rock / math rock meets synth pop electronica thing.
    * Drums from Splice K-Pop samples
    * Misc samples from Splice
    * Guitar - Gibson SG guitar recorded through Scarlet 4i4
    * Bass - American P-Bass recorded through Scarlet 4i4
    * Synths from Ableton Wavetable
    * Gullfoss and Ozone Elements 10 for mastering

  • Week 27 - Drum Bender - Last time.
    Music Video
    So I've been meaning to try to make really "bendy" music. Not sure this really got there. It feels more like "sad and alone on a beach" music to me.
    Anyway. I used an SP404 for the first time and stared with a bunch of vocal samples for the foundational melody and song structure, but it ended up getting pretty buried after I added synth for texture and low end, two drum takes and lyrical vox. I guess the synth is kinda bendy... but not the way i hear it in my head.
    Did two drum tracks... one for the left ear and one for the right ear. I really like how the drums turned out.
    LYRICS
    Last time.
    1000 miles of calm, they wave goodbye and what we really need is kinda hard to fold. If everything was clear, would we even know? Nice try. Until we choose to go.
    Last time.
    Unfortunate is all dissolving in the end. Holding pretty thoughts intended for the air. The current came around a perfect undertow where we hide a lovely place to go.
    I used to know the way (denial). Full years, fist in page. Mouth spilling over with smiles and dirt. In isolation... I  just want to fall forever. Right into the art of place we cannot see. I hope you'll meet me there sometime.

  • Week 27 - laguna - Wonkfest
    Didn't had any free time to make music. I was assigned to a different operation base and the week had nice moments while being somewhat hectic.
    This is a really old (iPad 4 old, I mean) beat I made using a forgotten drum machine for iOS called DM1... I guess this one has more than 12 years, yet I dumped the basic loop in 2025, then added some Max for Live "Diffuse" delay/reverb for the mid and high frequencies and called it a day.
    An I forgot to mention the original DM1 loop was chopped and rearranged slightly out of pitch / time using Renoise for extra wonkiness :)
    At least, I guess the beat is somewhat wonky.
    Thanks to everybody who dropped by. Lots of love to you :)
