  • Week 23 - Kaaareeegar - azadi
to mean being free, like a scorching heat.
Took this photograph in Bandra village, Bombay city, around 2016.
as I was walking in the village, happily crossing paths, I spent about, 15-20 minutes in company of the cat, not including the time where I was seaking consent for the photograph. Took about 3-4 photos, maintaining distance and not intruding space.
as an aspiring film-maker myself, I have been glad that my first no narrative film is based upon this city called Bombay. Released with my film and record label Lata press.
You can watch the film here
I keep making use of the photograph for various material as need be and as I find it fitting. For the film I also released a 18 track album titled as Sealink on my bandcamp.

for the album cover image I used the photograph which I first printed it on a Tshirt.
If you'd somehow like to commission me in any form and material, please feel free to write at me. Thank you.

  • Week 23 - Lizenn - 23 minutes of sleep
Yep just a keep streak week. Didn't had a lot of inspiration (and mostly took it all on working perfecting my last week's track because...why not ?) so I just rushed someting light and dreamy, tried to play around a bit of texturing but without giving much thoughts.
As always, just wishing y'all the best, have some well deserved rest and some love ♥

  • Week 23 - Leo - Lonely Toyboy
    Eyyy it's chiptune AGAIN??
You know when you wanna write lyrics and then you have to actually start to think about what and how you feel? I've spent the last couple weeks with a lot of old, very good friends, and this week I was by myself most of the time, because none of them live here. So there's the tagline.
I was also inspired by fellow Weeklybeater Roboctopus. To me, keeping the words to a minimum, giving them a chance to somewhat expand with the music, is part of the magic, so I left it at that and spent some time on building in tons of tiny variations.
Again, this one's all M8. I wanted to explore the limitations of chip music a bit more and started out wanting to use only the Wavsynth engine and 3 tracks at most.
I broke both rules down the line. Recording the vocal clip (onboard mic, bitcrushed and downsampled to death) and arranging it with the track took another 2 tracks for stereo, and around the 1:30 mark I decided I wanted the Toy engine from Macrosynth as well. I'm pretty happy with the result anyway, the limitations gave me a great place to start and got me to a place where I could confidently break the rules because an idea had by then formed.

  • Week 23 - Daisy - Aquasphere
This is influenced by a book I am reading. This book has so influenced me-- I can't stop thinking about it and this piece fell out of my head.

  • Week 23 - clonedkitty - Valentina
Simple track this week, made with Magical 8 bit Plug. Meant to be a short loop for a game, but I extended it a bit for WB.

  • Week 23 - onezero - Summit of the Deer
This one started with a decision to avoid the G-major tonic that I've been writing lately, so I started with a figure in A major to shake things up a bit, beginning with the first center-panned figure you hear.
After writing some responses to that, I thought to try something I'd seen Ronald Jones (ex-Flaming Lips) doing in an old in-studio video: rather than using a slide on the third or fourth finger, he was using it on the first or second finger, and using third and fourth fingers to play notes above it. That bit starts at 1:14, panned center. It's not dramatically microtonal, but gains a bit of resonance from the vibrating string on the other side of the slide. Kind of cool, and I'd want to explore this more. (This section, though, does have G as a tonal center. The gravitational pull is substantial.)
This one's three tracks of PureSalem Mendiola, with a touch of send to a convolution reverb, and the usual compressor/eq/limiter chain on the stereo buss.
There's something lullaby-like about this one. We've been through a lot, and it's important to take care of ourselves.
The title comes from the meaning of the peak Mullaghanish, which has an elevation of 649m.
