This was attempt #3 to get a song done this week, after my guitar recording failed for attempt #1 and my Model:Samples cable came loose and erased all my work on attempt #2. I am trying to use every instrument I have at least once this year, and attempt #2 is making me dread picking up the M:S again

### Lore

As you wander through the halls, making aimless turns here and there, you spot speakers every few hundred feet. The music they're all playing somehow makes you feel like the designer of this god forsaken place is desperately seeking your approval, almost as if they're asking you directly "You're having fun, right?"

### Production Details

I made most of this song on Saturday evening, using nothing but the M8's WAVSYNTH engine. The audio is straight from the M8's render, thrown into some online WAV to MP3 converter.

Even though I wrote the track on Saturday, I hadn't named it until Sunday evening. I had just come back from the movies from watching The Backrooms, and earlier in the day, I had watched episodes 1 through 7 of The Amazing Digital Circus. After getting back home, I listened to this song once more and, while under the influence of those two pieces of media, decided on the song's name and wrote up the lore.

### Diary and Chatter

Hi friends! First of all, my apologies for the absolute lack of comments on my part this past week. I was out on vacation with family on the beach, which meant almost no time on the social internet.

On that note, the week was mostly fantastic: I got to hang out with in-laws and my youngest nephew. It was his first birthday and his first time on the beach.

This was a live tecno jam i recorded and edited, used TR-8S and the drumbrute for the most part, bit of a burner.

Was great to use the TR-8S again, i havn't used it nearly enough lately.

Edit: Previous upload had some compression issues and wasn't producing sound on WB, this submission is rectifying that. Big thanks to all the lovely users that helped me get it here, such a bunch of legends <3

Heh, once again I postponed everything until the last moment and my plan was once again - just do a quick self-jam with fingerdrumming and guitar. But I've discovered my whole audio setup stopped working. I'm using linux with pipewire and it seems like I've messed up the signal routing during the week somehow, will be looking into it later today it seems.

But yeah, in order to record at least something - I've plugged the mic, took an acoustic and just did a one-take of strumming and trying to complain about my life on top of playing.

I think for the duration of the summer I will switch to the acoustic guitar though, to force myself work on progressions and get to know more "traditional" songwriting.

And now I will go and finish cleaning of my apartment because I just can't anymore, everything is in disarray and I'm constantly trying to catch up with my plans and responsibilities. Welp, it's time for it to change.

I feel like I also was doing a bit of social isolation, and that also includes weeklybeats. It feels like the whole thing is about community and interactions but I'm not really engaging with the chats and so on, so I might be missing on the benefits :')

Anyways, the cleaning awaits me and so is the battle with my own mind

Soundcloud - here's a version with some fixes to the mix and arrangement. A small additional effort for big improvements in my opinion, but would of course have loved to spend more time.

this is the first time I didn't even finish a crude arrangement. my time optimism put me in a situation where I had to export and submit before I listened to what I had put together. there was some pasting errors for a/b parts and wonky levels so I spent a little bit longer and uploaded the track with some fixes to Soundcloud.

I really thought this week was going to be easy. Monday was a US holiday so I had a bit of time and it resulted in a fun four bars loop that I thought was promising. unfortunately no more time for the rest of the week. that's how it goes! I think this could have been good if I spent some time on the original idea and fleshed it out.

Several months have passed, And I'm still nearly missing the deadline.

I need better time management or something...

I actually have been amking heaps of coding experiments and stuff, this is one of them
