  • Week 21 - Ruffian Price - Right Around The Corner
More synth movements. I always worry about stuff like the slowly evolving part at the beginning here, but the shape I landed on was always fun to listen through, so it should be fine. Funnily enough the action part has less bass content than the intro (even though it introduces two low pulses), I just couldn't afford any more mud there

    I planted a magnolia tree
    Just for me
    *****
Feeling better this week after last week's flu, but did not take as much time for music that I would have liked, so here's another spontaneous one-take.

  • Week 21 - dadboy - Letting go (or trying to, at least)
Veeeeeery nearly didn't submit a track this week, and I actually was OK with it. I've decided to make some bigger life changes (working on going back to school), and just realizing that I'll need to reprioritize how I spend my time. I'd like to keep up with WB, but I'm not certain it will make the cut. At a minimum, I'm definitely going to have to scale back the pressure or attention I give it, so if you've been enjoying my recent low effort ambient stuff, you're in luck!
So for this week, I'd actually decided I was OK if I didn't finish a track. Then this morning I started › Warning: Gross‹ Warning: Grossthrowing up blood and realized that I almost certainly wouldn't finish one. But, in the end, after I saw a doctor and established that I'm (hopefully) OK, at least for the moment, I ended up deciding that I wanted to finish something. I didn't feel like I had to, but I wanted to. That feels like a good place to be—doing this because I want to, not because I feel like I have to. So here! Enjoy some more speedtrash ambient, have a good week, and take good care of yourselves!

  • Week 21 - AiDeRen - Yskender
Written entirely on Dirtywave M8 Tracker
    Light mastering in Audacity (normalizing/limiting/compressing).
A continuation of last week's track's outro, which was the previous week's outro, which was the previous week's outro, which...
Got no time this week, like usual, but less.
Hence, this track's existence is sorely to just keep the streak alive.
    Please, do not listen.

  • Week 21 - horatiuromantic - I've been workin'
Here's an electric guitar blues sounding tune. I made it today after around 19:30. With my limited chops, it took about 4 takes with another 4 tries for the solo.
It's a fun one to play on looper too, but in this recording I just did 2 recordings instead of struggling to get it all in one.
It should be easy enough to play as a beginner guitarist, u just gotta get the rhythm right and then it's the same figure over and over.
I'm back with a video for this one!!!

    I've been workin'
    on my latest prototype
and no matter what I do I can't seem to
get it right, get it right, get it right...
    And I'm certain
    it won't be finished tonight
    The final deadline was yesterday
it was really just a lifeline that died...
    I've been pullin'
    all nighters all year long
    And it's screwin'
        with my motivation...
That's why I wrote this song.
    [solo]
    I'll be crunchin'
    just another day or so
that's how long I think I need to make it
that's what I said a couple weeks ago
    [faster groove]
    Just a little bit
    Just a little bit longer
    Just a little bit harder
if I work smart, I can do it
    I can do anything!
    I can do everything!!!
    Nothing is working!!!
Nothing makes any god damn sense at all!
    I can't give up now,
I put too much work in this!
    [original groove]
    I've been workin'...

  • Week 21 - FalseTragedian - Prologue to Nothing
There are these things called "presets" that smart people use so that they don't have to do all their sound design from scratch for each track. Of course, as with many things which simplify life and make me more productive, I tend to ignore their existence.
In an effort to try and change that, I built a just-over-a-minute track using nothing but M8 factory presets. Honestly quite satisfied with the results.
I feel like it could be an intro to a video game or a show. It isn't, but if you're making a video game or show you're welcome to change that fact.
M8 bundle available on request. Don't want to keep filling up my Google Drive if no one is going to download from it.

  • Week 21 - TheDaeVolta - Contradiction
    Constructive Critisisms always accepted!
This weeks track was made at a PERFECT pace - with enough stress to just go with my first gut instinct, but not so little time I was internally screaming for two hours to get something out
Actually really proud of this one!

    The warm sun
    the cold wind
    the contradiction makes
    you realize what it takes
    the cold wind bites
    the warm sun embraces you
    you
The way contradiction brings balance balance
makes me feel like we're all the same same
    some people hate
    some people love
    but know you can
    use that to rise above
    Contrast
    makes the berry so sweet
    the opposites make
    everything feel neat
    you never know
if it will go your way
    but the adventure is enough
    to make me stay
The way contradiction brings balance balance
makes me feel like we're all the same same
    some people hate
    some people love
    but know you can
    use that to rise above
    Challenges
come to your door to greet
    the rapping knocks
    make your heart beat
    days pass by
    and the knocking never stops
    win or lose
    facing the challenge will unlock
    you never know what will
    be true
    you never know what will
    win
    you never know what will
    beat you
    you never know what
    situation you'll be in
    you never know what's
    at the door
    you never know what's
    less or more
you never know how to be there for
    you
    you
The way contradiction brings balance balance
makes me feel like we're all the same same
    some people hate
    some people love
    but know you can
    use that to rise above
