  • Week 20 - FalseTragedian - RoboticPulse
Coming in hot before the deadline with this one.
Just having some fun with some chippy lo-fi sounds (all sounds from the M8 Wavsynth engine). Hope the crunchy drums are as fun to listen to as they were to make.
Do I use random panning too much? Nah. Can't be.
Title is courtesy of the M8 random generator.

  • Week 20 - 0x_colt - SKEWED
This week's jam is in 7/8, which is huge for me since I've never written outside of 4/4 time.
I didn't have a lot of time to work on this during the week, so this was mostly a "Speed-Treasure Sunday" special.
I struggled with this one a bit, honestly, as it was pretty weird for me to wrap my head around the odd time signature, so I hope you enjoy it!
Let me know what you think down below! Always happy to hear constructive criticism, or just love.

  • Week 20 - nerBeater - Retail Detail Shmee Tales (Deep Yeah Mix)
The sludge is thick, walking through it, not sure I wanna risk it.
At least it's colourful and sometimes tasty.
Imagine you really believed the floor would fall through, and there IS a fire burning?
Not sure I wanna risk it.
Others keep bouncing off the walls, yelling at each other. It's a party; it's a group therapy?
What? Where am I? Thought it was a planet. Go back to your own..? HUH?
Where do they think they are to say such a weirdly miraculous notion?
Did you hear the kids? "Horrible" means good, so miraculous of a notion...
What's in a nation's own interest but what they have to collectively say?
I'm not sure my community is aware of its own collective expression.
These are the thoughts dwelling inside the Deep House influence brain.
My brain is a Deep House for the conflict, the storm, for the subsiding and ebb of the monthly tidal cycles.
Therefore, I just relent, I let it flow, I give my "Deep Yeah".
This is Deep Yeah, it's not techno, it's not house, it's not ambient. It IS hard ambient and experimental generative, it IS related to Deep House because I haven't stopped listening to it for the last 3 years. It is NAUT written by n'Autechre, but I studied them from the earside-in, decoding my own autorganic digitalation.
    So, yeah, ummm.. I mean...
    So, Deep Yeah...

  • Week 20 - Snyderman - SID2x2
Wanted to try my hand at another genre I spent a lot of time listening to courtesy of old Beatmania IIDX stuff. This track is "heavily inspired" by Toshiyuki Kakuta aka L.E.D. and a host of other names. Tracks like The Earth Light and the various tunes in the Denjin J / Jaeger mold.
I used 2xSID2 chips because Furnace's SID3 was too daunting but it was cool to push out some heavy beats even if it gets a little overwhelming at moments.

  • Week 20 - Vet - Cheat
Had a lot of fun with this one, doing some requests from friends in a Discord, then mixed in some personal experiences in the samples like me going to the Square Enix Concert and being able to get a few samples and snippets when the lights turned on and people were applauding.
I appreciate my process in music, documenting it as a journal of my thoughts or events. Hope you all enjoy it too!
The middle portion is inspired by Legend of Legaia, another RPG I really like. The intro is inspired by Mux Mool and She Music.

  • Week 20 - tired_moniker - tired_wb26_20
All guitar this week : ) Initially I had planned to sample some chords and then jump into the M8 as usual, but ended up trying to put together a second part. Kind of ran out of time so it's almost like two tracks with the second part starting around 2:35 (it's a little louder volume wise just a heads up!)
I found mixing with a lot of effects on guitar a lot more challenging than my typical M8 into Reaper workflow. I was also trying to get my pedal board to play well with digital vsts/plugins so a lot more to explore there for sure. Will come back to this one at some point to sample and add percussion, maybe next time
