  • Week 17 - Djeroek - [89 bpm] lill piano beat 3
some digging, sample loop play. If this will end up somewhere I think I'm going to add some kind of proper bass/sub work, as now the bass which is inside the sample is emphasized, but misses oomph imo. Also the piano is too loud in parts and I couldn't be bothered separating the sample into stems and adjusting the piano loudness. Quick & gritty.

i seen this video this week that really t's up how i feel about this
And it's I don't procrastinate, I simply wait until panic improves my focus, it's a highly refined strategy I've been perfecting for years.

  • Week 17 - Tone Matrix - Hearthstone
    › notes‹ notes
Afib has been around most of this week including this morning as I tried to figure out what I was going to work on at 4am. Funny thing is I had just settled into bed with the intention of "I'll wake up early and start my morning working on music". The second my back was flat on the bed it triggered.
Sorta like that old timey cartoon work whistle. So long sueno.
This probably could have had some transitions and such but it is what it is.
I'm happy I'm here with you all for another week <3
Thank you for stopping by and listening.

  • Week 17 - angellis - MMXXVI - XVII
This week, I made a track using only NI Massive. The kick, snare, whoosh, bass, pad, arp... all Massive.
No mixing beyond adding glue compressor to get some sidechain action on the bass, then mastering with Ozone 11 (I'll confess, I used their suggested chain instead of my own purely based on time constraints.) So a grand total of 3 different plugins on the session. Didn't turn out too bad. Wish I had more time for it.

  • Week 17 - MAXELL XL3 - slow down
This is what happens when I pitch down my tracks and run them through some of my pedal effects. I was working on a couple of other tracks this week that I couldn’t quite finish, so I came up with this piece instead. It’s really just a moment of slow, relaxing mindfulness.

  • Week 17 - HoolieBrown - All We Could Be
Back to roots, scrappy ballads on acoustic but singing WAY out of my comfort zone here. This started as a m8 project and I wrote lyrics to it.  It did NOT work xD.  I tried to make it work, was it drums or other orchestration?  I ran out of ideas so I stripped it down and tracked it direct into my DAW.  Lush reverb and widened the acoustic track. Tuned the pitchy falsetto - may have left some warbles but it's midnight on saturday :P.
Character driven not autobiographical - break ups are a good fallback to write about when you run out of good ideas.
