  • Week 17 - cstanleyhns - Omnisphere Meditation
A single bass note here helps keep the track grounded, giving it more of a meditative feel.
    Tools:
    Omnisphere 3 for all sounds
Harmony bloom to trigger the pluck
If you have listened, then thank you ๐Ÿ˜Š

  • Week 17 - MyloWhyTho - WHY THO
    It's Week 17!
I decided to be *unhinged* for this one :)
This submission is a blend of two separate ideas I had going - The first half was thrown together entirely in Ableton and the second half is primarily a mix of Syntakt and M8 (with a bit of Intellijel Cascadia sample fodder mixed in throughout). Split is roughly 50/50 between mangled samples from Splice and a mix of hardware and VST synths.
Mix is not my best work... but I hope it's good enough :')

  • Week 17 - Kedbreak136 - Another Galaxy
Another vaguely synthwave/spacey track. I am happy with the lead bass and the main beat. It's simple but it works. The mpovie sample is from the public domain movie Horror Express - a pretty good movie that is actually an adaptation of the same book that got adapted into The Thing by John Carpenter.

  • Week 17 - digtacos - Fantasy RPG Beat
I got a new synth so I've been using my time recently to figure some stuff out. Mostly I realized how much my audio interface was degrading my sound. After about a week and a half monkeying around with it only to give up on it, I switched to focusing on this song. The cinematic flutes were the base and everything else just evolved around them. This one throws me back to the late 90s playing rpgs like Final Fantasy, Dragon Quest, Breath of Fire, and Lunar. Those were the days

  • Week 17 - Nueli - Fragments autour d'un feu
A friend sent me an audio of her playing guitar, and so I decided as a challenge to make a track out of it. Everything comes from the initial audio:
    - playing in reverse + reverb to make the background swells
    - isolated notes to make the melody
    - isolated notes pitch-shifted an octave to make the banjo-like melody
    - a small fragment pitch-shifted down to make the bass
    - string slides and distorted bits to make the drums
It was a very fun exercise! I've been told it sounds like the Outer Wilds soundtrack and I can see why.

  • Week 17 - shaike - Elevator on the Beach
Not too inspired this week; I tried. Traveling again; hopefully when everything calms down I can get back to making stuff how I want to...
