I got sucked deep into Cadence Hira's music theory vids on youtube, and decided to try my hand at relative axis interchange this week. What better than some zany unnamed console's shopping channel music rip-off.

The beginning waking up in the morning. Sunshine, quiet, normal things.  Plain intervals of 3rd and 4th in the flutes, then in the repeated in the trumpets, as I start really waking up.  Then there is a 4 measure horn call ending with a dissonant chord with added trumpet. The flutes are weeping in horror trying to keep their act together. The 4 horns join the weeping- the last horn weeping at half the speed. 3 pauses like sobs. The flute bravely enters with a Swing rhythm, the horns bravely follow-the confident trumpet guides the way- the flute hits a high F as if saying LOOK!  Then Pause, trill of disbelief on C- then flute bravely continues,with horns 1 and 2 marching faithfully underneath then--115 dead girls.

Unhinged by design. This is a boss theme I've been working on on and off for probably a year now, but I'm happy with how it turned out. It's made for a fight with a giant turnip that is spontaneously brought to life - understandably, it starts panicking and attacking the player.

The goal was to capture a feeling of silly and frantic chaos in a tune that is also somewhat catchy. I'm glad I finally pulled through.

I actually made way too much music this week but they are all for clients and I can't share any of them :(

So this week for WB I mixed down and made an ending for this short theme for a scrapped film where they needed me to make a retro fighting game theme. This cracks me up too much to just eternally leave on my harddrive, so enjoy I guess.........???

Built around a sample pack that was originally 120 bpm. Slowed the whole thing down to 87 bpm and the vibe was much more to my liking. Need to play with it a bit more to get some more gradual transitions. A 20 minute extended mix could be really fun as another project. Built on iPhone but could be a good project for rebuilding with m8.
