I had wanted to take this a *little* bit further (a perennial wb refrain no doubt,) and I'd also made it awkward to arrange because of some early decisions. Even so I think it has something so in the end this is a "live" take with a couple of edits. I like the slightly scrappy feel that gives it.

Really rough week for me. Not much sleep so zero energy and time to create something. Had to make something up in one night waking up at 4 am and eating a pizza (thus the name). So I messed with rythms mostly, and tried a bit of orchestral stuff (but that's on another level I won't reach yet). Ended up doing something I'm not really proud and not really confident about but I mean at least it's something. Also composing for 11/8 is really hard haha ! I started improvizing the piano part, I didn't knew it would end up on something that complicated.

The lead synth was inspired by Porter Robinson's "Cheerleader".

Bought myself an OP-XY with graduation money last year, and life events starting almost at the same time as its arrival just sapped all enthusiasm I had for creative endeavors.

Things are slowly getting better, so now I figure I should actually learn to use the thing.

The much-vaunted Brain function does not know what to do with a chromatic scale.

This is the most time I've spent on a track this year... not that you'd be able to tell. First several takes of this were live-performed, then I gave up and used Song Mode. Punch-in FX are still live though. All piped into a Mini Kaoss Pad 2S mainly because it works as a master recorder.

Could be better but I'm out of time.

Mostly a drum processing exercise. Feels like the whole could and should hit harder but that's a whole nother thing, innit. With how repetitive this chorus already is adding variety to the FX was crucial and the delayed delayed clap ended up such a cool trick it's reused in two more places
