Guest host Brandon brings justice like lightning as we kick off a three-episode arc with “Thunderbolts Classic, Vol. 1” by Kurt Busiek. In the wake of the apparent death of the Avengers (and the Fantastic Four, but they don’t count as much), a new team has arisen from nowhere and captured New York City’s heart, but not all is as it seems. Our hosts talk about the great reveal, the incredibly 90’s character design, and what makes bad guys go good. To hear past episodes or check out what we have coming up, go to www.WelcometoComics.com. The long-awaited show on “Southern Bastards: Here Was a Man” by Jason Aaron and Jason Latour is here thanks to guest host Nick. In this down-home comic, elderly Earl Tubb returns to Craw County to pack up his father’s estate but gets sucked back into The South and its problems. David, Jen, and Nick talk about The South as character setting, the a-holes all over this comic, and that poor stray dog. Chat goes long on this comic, so there’s no aftershow game this week.
